ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

To develop and lead supply chain procurement and project opportunities in order to meet the logistics service requirements for the business at minimum cost.  Responsibilities include:

  • Lead procurement sourcing strategies for specific logistics activities and negotiate appropriate service requirements at the best possible cost in order to support the business EBITDA targets
  • Lead tender and negotiations for polymer requirements in order to deliver appropriate service requirements for the business at minimum costs
  • Develop vendor relationships including contract management of vendors within area of responsibility in order to ensure that the expectations in the contracts are met
  • Lead, develop and support logistics projects aimed at either improving service or reducing cost to continually improve the supply chain
  • Own and be responsible for all pricing information for logistic provider rates to allow logistic providers to be appointed at short notice for urgent operations
  • Own and be responsible for quarterly and monthly adjustments as per Supply Chain contracts with 3rd party suppliers
  • Provide monthly statistics in line with year-to-date vendor spend data
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and procurement contracts documentation to enable easy access by management
  • Review, develop and submit the O&P Variable Distribution Costs annual budget for Polymers
  • Line manage the Logistics Financial Coordinator

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be proficient with IT, specifically Excel, for developing applications specific to logistics
  • Influence decisions across different businesses and disciplines
  • Interact with multi-national teams and 3rd party suppliers
  • Identify issues and propose solutions, supported by data and analysis

You may also:

  • University degree qualification in a technical/numeric discipline or equivalent experience with a track record in delivering value for the business
  • Demonstrate commercial aptitude, developed within a relevant business environment
  • Substantial knowledge of olefins and polymers products and logistics operations
  • Understand the principles of product supply and demand
  • Significant understanding of supply chain requirements and expertise in delivering value adding solutions
  • Excellent SAP knowledge/understanding
  • Experience of 3rd party relationships and ability to maximise value from 3rd parties within contractual boundaries
  • Strong understanding of business and financial processes and their interaction and dependencies with Supply Chain processes
  • Experience in managing vendor data and setting up of off-site operations for logistics
  • Excellent judgement when making commercial decisions
  • Strong business sense – able to influence within the business environment
  • Strong supply chain HSE knowledge
  • A strong background in business skills, budgeting, problem solving and analysis
  • Negotiation skills, communication, managing relationships, teamwork
