Main role purpose

The post holder ensures all production targets on the membrane chlorine plant are achieved, whilst maintaining full compliance in terms of corporate SHE and regulatory requirements and identifying and implementing continuous improvements in asset performance.


Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Lead the preparation and development of all production strategies for Runcorn MCP to deliver the overall business plan.
  • Develop and implement an operating and organisational strategy for Runcorn MCP, ensuring all areas of the asset are fully integrated and functioning as a single efficient production unit.     
  • Lead the development of a high performance and continuous improvement culture that ensures compliance with all SHE standards, targets and operating requirements.
  • Manage the production teams to ensure they can effectively contribute to the achievement of manufacturing targets and improvements at the lowest cost per ECU produced.


Key skills & experience 

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Significant operational management experience on a similar high hazard asset.
  • A thorough understanding of high hazard COMAH registered plants.
  • A high concern for standards.
  • A conceptual thinker, able to grasp wider issues and impact.
  • Results oriented to deliver high SHE, performance and cost targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness and leadership skills.
  • Able to remain effective under pressure.
  • Experience of significant change management.
