The Position:

Promote and support a safe work environment by maintaining a thorough knowledge of plant safety regulations, operations procedures, maintenance procedures, environmental procedures and properties of plant chemicals.  This role will serve as the central coordinator for the work permits issued on the unit and will be responsible for driving compliance with plant safety regulations.

This position – and all positions - within the INEOS Styrolution organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. These are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility.  Each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis. These rules are posted also within each INEOS Styrolution facility.    

What you will do: 

Champion of the 20 Principles and Life Saving Rules

  • Lead/participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Participation as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA

Supports Integrity Management Program

  • Scheduling of Preventative Maintenance
  • Review task list to ensure proper maintenance in accordance with manufacture’s recommendations and best engineering/maintenance practices

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintains high standards of unit housekeeping per INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program.
  • Ensure continuous operation of assets through a preventative maintenance program that supports high equipment reliability.
  • Effectively plans and runs the operations portion of unit Turnaround (TAR) and is responsible for delivery of the TAR schedule.
  • Minimize interruptions to operation of assets by ensuring repairs of down equipment are conducted in a timely manner and also authorizes breaks in the daily or weekly maintenance schedule.
  • Prioritize the planning and scheduling of equipment repair based on safety, criticality to process and equipment history.
  • Participate in weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure timely equipment/system preparation for maintenance activities.
  • Be able to coordinate the work of others, set priorities to meet company needs
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization 
  • Have a proven record in the areas of Responsible Care (AsCare).

What you will bring: 

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or ability to read, write, and perform mathematics at this level; 
  • Associates degree or Certificate in Process Technology or equivalent and relevant working knowledge of chemical processing technology and operations is preferred.
  • Five (5+) or more years of experience within chemical manufacturing plant preferred; specific knowledge of EB/SM, ASA, ABS, or Polymers preferred.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of required safety regulations and standard operating procedures in the applicable manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Requires a high degree of initiative 
  • Knowledge of the maintenance process, including planning/scheduling
  • Must have the capability to set priorities and make informed decisions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; Understanding of SAP and Microsoft Office Applications
