INEOS Oligomers Feluy (Belgium) is looking for a :
Plant Inspector Engineer (m/f)
Key roles and accountabilities
The main purpose of the role is to provide support to manage the Risk Based Inspection program of the Feluy site, identify and report anomalies to maintain the integrity of stationary equipment. Advise on equipment calibration certification and documentation in line with PED and Belgian legislation.
The Plant inspector is a key-person to maintain the integrity of stationary equipment as well as support the design of the preventive maintenance program.
The Plant inspector is accountable to schedule the inspection program, to agree on the inspection methodology, to follow the inspections, review the inspection reports and follow-up on all non-compliances. He/She is responsible for ensuring that construction meets the PED as well as Belgian legislation. He/She is the single point of accountability.
The Plant inspector supports the site and work with the PSM Engineer:
- To stay in compliance with Process Safety Inspections which must be reported to INEOS Group (including IGGN 30+).
- To review and validate inspection reports, keep owners aware of abnormalities and keep track of actions to avoid unsafe operations.
- With support of subcontracted experts, to provide expertise and makes interpretations of findings, analyze for failure, reports issues and recommendations to operations and maintenance.
- To assists and participates in inspecting plant stationary equipment
- To control and improve the quality of inspections performed by NOBO.
- After extensive training, to approve welders certifications, welding procedures and assist in certifying welders;
- After training, approve all new piping isometrics as well as all construction file before the operations takeover;
- After extensive training, to provide advices on metallurgy and welding specific use limitations and to provide awareness training on such issues;
- After training, to maintain compliance with the ATEX legislation.
- To ensure that the site's fire protection system is in good working order and monitors the work that needs to be carried out on it
Skills and knowledge required
Level of education
- Chemical, material or mechanical engineer. (or equivalent based on experience)
- Good knowledge of metallurgy and the inspection methodology.
Technical skills
- Good knowledge of PED and steam/ compressed air/ Belgian legislation.
- Good knowledge of corrosion mechanics mechanism, detection and repair.
- Good knowledge of welding processes and equipment
- Willing to orient his/her career for long term as chemical plant inspector.
- Willing to follow courses with success in foreign countries to become a technical specialist in inspection and metallurgy.
- Fluency in French, good knowledge of English.
- Very good knowledge of data management with spread sheet and data base
- Very good knowledge of the RBI processes is a plus.
Behavioural skills
- As many assignments are self-initiated, the jobholder must be a highly motivated self-starter.
- He/she must be capable of making independent contributions /strong interpersonal skills.
- He/she must be ‘detail’ oriented/able to respond to the clients’ needs in a timely manner.
- Mature, professional judgment is required in planning and performing assignments and achieving prescribed objectives.
