Accountabilities of the job:
Accountability 1: Safety: Process Safety Information (PSI)
- Requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position.
- Update PSI for the plant which is maintained by the Engineering department such as P&ID’s, electrical schematics drawings, as well as specification sheets
- Ensures that PSI is updated in response to MOC’s, capital projects, maintenance projects or any other source of improvements which affect the PSI of the plant.
- Assure the safety of employees and contractors through compliance with the OSHA standards, ANSI standards, INEOS Acetyls policies and procedures, and other agencies’ safety regulations, standards, and/or guidelines.
- Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents to supervision.
Accountability 2: Mechanical Design
- Prepare detailed design drawings for in-house Front End Engineering Designs (FEED) and detailed design drawings for fast track projects.
- Revise existing and create new mechanical drawings, layouts, piping isometrics, structural steel, specifications and bills of materials, with the guidance of an engineer.
- Assemble and issue design packages that will be utilized for construction purposes.
- Provide mechanical design assistance throughout all phases of projects including commissioning and start-up.
- Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment lists for plant, pipeline and related facilities construction projects.
- Provide design support for routine requests from maintenance and operations personnel.
- Collect and deliver design and engineering data to both internal and external partners
- Track progress for jobs and projects and coordinate with supervision
- Review vendor and in-house coordination drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Provide support during equipment installation to ensure design specifications are met.
- Collaborate on projects to ensure designs are practical, cost effective and meet all relevant regulations and standards.
- Communicate with vendors to review equipment availability, equipment cost, and installation requirements.
- Prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete. Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
- Assist with performing field surveys, documenting existing conditions, and/or recommending various design solutions.
- Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.
- Analyze the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems and recommend possible solutions or alternate construction options.
- Produce drawings and deliverables utilizing company standards within project-approved schedule and budget.
- Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Support drawing and information generation for excavation permit development.
Required profile:
Level of Education & Knowledge:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
- 10+ years of experience in the Mechanical design field in a refinery, midstream or petrochemical industry.
Experience & Technical Skills:
- Experience in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Understanding of ANSI/ISO/ASME drafting methods (GD&T), standards and procedures.
- The ability to use calipers, micrometers, scales, and other basic measuring tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques and be to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Must have basic use and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
