INEOS Oxide is one of the most diverse, dynamic and successful businesses within INEOS. We operate 4 manufacturing sites in Europe and North America (Antwerp BE, Köln DE, Lavéra FR, Plaquemine US) and are in the process of acquiring a new one in Bayport (TX), US. We produce a broad range of 200+ products which spread across five key value chains (Ethylene Oxide, Propylene Oxide, Oxoalcohols, Acetic Acid, and ENB), and on many of our products we are the European market leader. Our total manufacturing capacity is above 3 million tonnes per annum generating an annual EBITDA of ~300 M€. INEOS Oxide is an energetic business which is growing actively on a global level, with projects to extend our production base to new sites in North America and Asia in addition to continued investment on our existing platforms. Purpose of the Job:

The Payroll & HR Assistant manages the Oxide US payroll process and provides support for various employee programs within the organization.  The position is the key source for the company’s salary and incentive program and is also responsible for providing analysis of various human resource programs and initiatives.

Most Important Internal Factors:

  • Subject Matter Expert for Oxide US payroll system
  • Provides assistance to HR Representatives with PDP/PIP and annual performance appraisal tracking.
  • Provides assistance to HR Representatives with Annual Salary Administration
  • Various projects as assigned by the HR Manager

Most Important External Factors:

  • Weekly meetings with WD core Team for updates and changes to Workday
  • Answer questions from employees regarding pay
  • HR Representatives as point of contact for any changes in employee detail

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Accountabilities:

SHE

  • This position – and all positions – with the INEOS Oxide US organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position.  These Principles are posted throughout each Oxide facility and each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis.  These are also posted within each Oxide facility.

Payroll Management

  • Serve as Oxide US payroll systems expert.
  • All site data entry to Workday for payroll and benefits.
  • Adding, editing payroll data, transactions, deductions for new hires and existing employees.
  • Certify accuracy of all timecard and payroll related transactions
  • Entering hours, earnings, deductions, and auditing all payroll and benefits related transactions.
  • Certify and correct when necessary, transactions from timecards by verifying data intended by originator
  • Process special pay advices, checks
  • Maintain HRIS data within the Workday systems, including processing of new hires, terminations, transfers, and other required employee data changes.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
  • Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related and to ensure effective accounting support.
  • Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.

HR Assistant

  • Assists with annual performance appraisal process tracking.
  • Assists with the annual salary administration process.
  • Distribute employee merit and bonus letters.
  • Collaborates with the HR Manager, and HR Representatives on a variety of projects.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Track trends and developments in all functional areas.
  • Conduct studies, perform research, and prepare reports.

Skills/Competencies:

Level of Education & Experience in general

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years’ HR payroll experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred.
  • HRIS experience preferred (Workday)
  • Proficient in MS Office products

Technical Skills

  • Strong computer skills with exceptional Microsoft Office experience
  • HRIS experience, preferably Workday
  • Customer/Client Focus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA and related state and federal regulations
  • Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills

Behavioral Skills

  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Sound spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.

**This position is 100% on-site at our Marina View corporate offices in League City, TX.

ADA Physical requirements, visual acuity requirements and environmental conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.  The employee must occasionally walk, stand and travel by car, airplane or other means.   Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens, and to adjust focus.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.   Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.

Work Environment:  This job is performed mainly in a temperature controlled office environment.
