ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Outage Planner & Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination and field execution of our CUI programme, ensuring all inspection, SIPs and NDT activities are effectively planned, scheduled and delivered safely, on time and in line with standards.
Key accountabilities
- Review inspection outputs and Written Schemes of Examination (WSE), walk the field to validate the scope, confirm conditions and identify SIP requirements.
- Define and plan work scopes including scaffold access, insulation removal/installation, painting, NDT, repairs, and any supporting enabling works.
- Raise work orders in Maximo for all required scope (SIP, NDT, mechanical repairs, enabling works) and challenge excessive costs.
- Build and maintain the P6 schedule for all CUI work, sequencing activities around Operations’ requirements and outages.
- Coordinate outage-related work with the Outage Lead, ensuring CUI tasks are integrated into the event plan.
- Walk the field with SIPs and contractors to brief work scopes, verify understanding and clarify requirements.
- Report progress, delays, issues, and emerging risks to the project team.
- Work with Operations to agree timing for insulation removal and inspection access, ensuring no impact on safety or production.
Please note some work requires coordination during outages, meaning flexibility around working hours.
ABOUT YOU
Required:
- HNC or equivalent in Engineering or relevant technical craft background.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical, Piping and Civil disciplines.
- Experience planning or delivering CUI, inspection, scaffold/insulation/painting or construction projects.
- Competent user of Maximo, P6, Microsoft Office.
- Robust organisational and planning skills; able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Logical, proactive, methodical problem‑solver with high personal drive and accountability.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, inspection requirements and construction standards.
- Strong communicator with proven ability to work across Operations, Engineering, Planning and contractor organisations.
