The purpose of this position is to control and improve the safety, quality, environmental performance, reliability, and efficiency/productivity of the PE Heritage assets at the Battleground Manufacturing Complex. This position sets the direction and is accountable for the effective utilization of resources for the PE Heritage operations in meeting business objectives and site performance measures.

Accountability 1:

Meet SHE objectives and comply with all governmental laws and policies:

Most important activities:

  • The position is accountable for understanding and putting into practice the INEOS 20 Principles.
  • Establish operating strategies to drive both asset integrity and environmental compliance for the PE Heritage assets.
  • Ensure that a comprehensive SHE management process including audits, corrective action tracking, and incident investigation is both followed and functioning well for PE Heritage assets.
  • Organize and support emergency response.

Accountability 2:

Meet operating plan for the business including cash fixed cost, variable cost, availability, and produce to schedule targets: Most important activities:

  • Develop key metrics to monitor operating performance, in alignment with BMC and business objectives.
  • Develop, support and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Develop, support and implement availability improvement strategies.
  • Ensure alignment and transparency with all plant and business groups.
  • Direct operations team to achieve competitive performance.

  • Identify the resource levels related to the PE Heritage assets (direct manpower, direct maintenance) to guarantee safe and reliable operations of assets.
  • Conduct succession planning.
  • Identify and define training requirements.
  • Define resource levels related to training and development.
  • Develop support competencies, jointly with Reliability and Technology.
  • Establish and promote the expansion of capabilities in the workforce.
  • Share learnings widely to enable development of knowledge and know-how.
  • Supervise a team of technical professionals, specialists, and technicians and assure appropriate professional and career development.
  • Identify and address any performance issues on a consistent basis.

Accountability 4:

Meet commitments between business and customers in the most efficient manner: Most important activities:

  • Execute PE Heritage production schedule flawlessly and with transparency.
  • Ship all PE Heritage products on time and within specification.
  • Provide reliable input on production recording and chokes to FC&A Department.
  • Maintain and follow site quality processes and policies and promptly close out non-conformances.

F. Required profile:

Level of education & Experience in general

BS in Chemical Engineering. At least 10 years experience in the petrochemicals manufacturing, commercial and technology roles.

Technical skills

  • Experience and knowledge in process management, particularly Polyolefin manufacturing.
  • Experience and knowledge of process safety management.
  • Understanding of project management principles and stage-gate processes.
  • Appreciation of portfolio management techniques.
  • Understanding of Material Science.
  • Experience and knowledge of economic optimization.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality management systems.
