ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

Olefins operations cover the sale/purchase and movement of nine materials within Europe.  Substantial quantities are sold to INEOS companies with the balance to major petrochemical companies.

The Product Operator is responsible for executing all product movements for internal supply, replenishment of storage facilities for onward sale to customers, direct sales to customers and for volumes traded with third parties.

This role will work closely with product managers and supply chain staff to optimise supply/demand balances and advise on the operational aspects of commercial activities.   The role also has responsibility for the associated order to cash/purchase to payment activities within the SAP system.

ABOUT YOU

Required:

  • Demonstrated commercial aptitude, developed within a relevant business environment.
  • Working knowledge of olefins products and logistics operations.
  • Good understanding of order to cash and procure to pay processes, particularly with SAP S&D and MM Modules.
  • Understanding of olefins products and their characteristics (especially in terms of transportation requirements).
  • Sound knowledge of marine law, demurrage principles and trading conventions.
  • Good judgment when making commercial decisions
  • Good business sense – able to converse with business and product managers
  • Understanding of the systems used within supply chain and procurement, e.g. SAP, etc.
  • Supply chain HSE knowledge, marine vetting and appreciation of chartering to manage associated risks.
  • Understands customs requirements for imports and exports.
  • Willing to provide regular out-of-hours cover (on-call).

Desired:

  • HNC/HND in a technical/numeric discipline would be advantageous, and/or demonstrable experience in a relevant transportation / maritime related business, with a track record in delivering value for the business.
  • Good teamwork, interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work productively when under pressure and under tight time restraints, meeting deadlines and multi-tasking.
  • Can proactively network with other INEOS businesses and external customers. 
  • A bias for action with a proven track record of using initiative and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Willingness to innovate and push boundaries.
