INEOS Olefins and Polymers USA is one of the largest integrated producers of olefins and polyolefins in North America.  From its primary manufacturing locations at Chocolate Bayou, near Alvin, Texas and Battleground Manufacturing Complex in LaPorte, Texas, with significant operations at multiple sites in the US for WL Plastics, as well as smaller operations at Cedar Bayou and near Hobbs New Mexico.  O&P USA, produces and/or markets of butadiene, ethylene, polypropylene, and high-density polyethylene, NGL feedstocks, and PE Plastic pipes with annual revenue of over $6 billion.

How the Role Fits In:

The NGLControl Analyst is responsible for the ongoing support of the accounting function and book-keeping for the NGL and trading activities.

The Main Purpose of the Role: 

Ensure that key accounting transactions, particularly for book-keeping related to purchase and sales of NGLs and other traded products are made in a timely and accurate manner. Also help reconcile key controls including counterparty confirmations and weekly cash forecasting.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

  • Reconciliation of all volumes to 3rd party pipeline/inspection reports.
  • Validation of prices through blotter (Trader) records of agreed pricing and OPIS (pricing service) to calculate and/or validate purchase/sale pricing.
  • Validation of trading deals in Right Angle based on blotter records.
  • Create Purchase Orders and enter Good Receipts in SAP
  • Create Sales Orders, Deliveries, and Invoices in SAP
  • Validation of inventories via month-end reconciliations of inventories
  • Reconciliation of AP/AR balances between SAP and Right Angle
  • Processing and tracking of invoices and payments for feeds
  • Cash forecasting on a weekly basis for cash team
  • 3rd party confirmations of both purchases and sales.
  • Loading prices into Right Angle software used for deal capture and risk analysis.
  • Pricing analysis (current deals vs. market pricing)
  • Backup and assist the NGL Financial Analyst for activities such as the Daily Position Report, Weekly Report, and other activities.
  • Perform various closing activities for month end

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

Level of education & Experience in general

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. 
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts and accounting techniques either from experience or formal training, especially the payables process.
  • Further accounting awareness/experience beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of the industry operations and key industry business drivers is a plus.
