INEOS Phenol is the world’s largest producer of phenol and acetone with an annual manufacturing capacity of over 3 million tonnes per annum. How the Role fits In:

This position sells audit services and products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation.In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

SHE Stewardship

Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.

Understand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that others are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.

Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.

Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.

Complete training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.

Work Duties

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Analyses sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.

Works with the Sales Team to optimise acetone pricing across the portfolio

Maintain market knowledge of the regional acetone supply/demand balances

Maintain market knowledge of the acetone market sectors

Determines best strategy to pursue customer business.Also pursues cost efficient methods of increasing business/market share.

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalogue, and emphasizes saleable features.

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of firm’s production and delivery schedules.

Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.

Work with account representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

Track stock levels.

Coordinate customer training.

Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

Develop and maintain relationship with purchasing contacts.

Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.

Attend trade shows.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; and

10 or more years in the Chemical/Refining Industry, encompassing a broad set of experiences including several of the following functional areas:Manufacturing, Procurement, Production Planning, Logistics, Business Management, Sales.

Contract negotiation experience

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages and volume.

Ability to communicate at all levels.

Ability to solve problems.

Ability to organize activities and manage time in order to execute principle accountabilities.

Ability to perform principle accountabilities and work independently without day- to-day direct supervision.

The use of the following office equipment will be required: Personal computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier, printer, scanner, fax

The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Skype, Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project

The use of the following site systems could be required: Emerson Distributive Control System, PI Data Historian, COA Database, Training Mine, Alfresco Document Management, Esker

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
