Job Title: Midstream Commercial Planning Representative

Department: Midstream & Marketing

Summary of Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to lead our midstream infrastructure planning efforts (oil, gas, produced water), focused on ensuring timely, economic, and reliable midstream connections are in place to serve the upstream onshore business.   As a member of our Midstream & Marketing team, you will utilize project management, infrastructure planning, commercial negotiation, and basic technical and engineering skills in support of the upstream business.  In addition to planning responsibilities, this role will include limited midstream scheduling responsibilities as part of a two (2) person team.  Midstream scheduling responsibilities include operations on pipeline gathering, truck gathering, treating, processing, and transportation providers. 

Responsibilities

  • In charge of asset wide midstream planning, focused on proper coordination with subsurface and facilities departments, to ensure economically and technically viable takeaway capacity is available for our development plans. Manage long term flow assurance and hydraulic modeling across various production scenarios, and for distinct pads being proposed for development.
  • Build, maintain and enhance midstream cost model used in development planning and for economic evaluations of specific midstream projects. 
  • Read, understand, and apply key commercial contract terms of the midstream agreements in planning activities.
  • In charge of the salt water disposal (SWD) long term strategy that provides reliable produced water flow assurance at lowest economic cost. 
  • Manage end to end SWD negotiations, contract terms and commitments.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and visual aids to communicate evaluations and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay informed about emerging midstream market conditions and opportunities.
  • In a backup capacity, schedule midstream oil and gas product flows across multiple systems including gathering, treating, processing, and transportation providers.
  • Work in compliance with safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with onshore unconventional assets.
  • Familiarity with upstream and midstream oil and gas terminology.
  • Commercial negotiation, economic evaluation, project management, and planning skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills to track multiple, detailed projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to navigate competing alternatives to identify optimal solution.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with programming languages (SQL, Power BI, Python), a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (0-25% anticipated).

Relocation:

Preferential treatment will be granted to candidates residing in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.

Compensation & Benefits

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $152,000 - $166,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 40% of eligible pay. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
