Mechanical Reliability Engineer

The INEOS Inovyn Antwerp site consists of two production plants located on two different sites and with a different heritage and are built according different engineering standards.  

Asset availability must be continuously monitored, assured and further improved and the job holder will be required to balance the finite resources and fixed cost / CAPEX budget available against the reliability improvements required in the short, medium and long term.

Effective liaison with the operating, maintenance, inspection, engineering teams and external contractors will be key part of the rôle and the job holder will be required to provide coaching and influence without any direct line management responsibility.

Accountabilities of the job: 

  • Ensures that the Reliability programme fully complies with technical standards and SHE policies.
  • Closely monitors plant equipment performance to ensure early action can be taken to avoid escalation of reliability issues.
    • Proactively detect changes through data analytics;
    • Identify, plan and manage improvement activities;
    • Monitor key equipment spare parts
  • Lead the root cause analysis associated with equipment reliability issues and the implementation of corrective actions.

    • Manage the RCA process;

    • Consult industry peers, recognized industry experts and/or vendors;

    • Implement and manage the corrective actions

  • Implement the technical engineering improvements for equipment performance that achieves reliability targets and ensures a sustainable production environment.

Required profile:

An Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience.

Minimum of 3 years experience of asset or reliability engineering on a Chemical production unit.

Technical  and Behavioural skills

Sound understanding of rotating and static equipment, and their failure mechanisms

Sound understanding of corrosion mechanisms

Excels in performance monitoring and data mining

Strong technical problem solver through Lean Six Sigma (LSS) techniques

Sound knowledge of international engineering standards and specifications

Knowledge of SAP is an advantage

Analytical thinking -analysis of performance and technical problem solving

Thoroughness - accuracy and completeness of analysis and documentation.

Interpersonal awareness - relationship building.

Rational persuasion - presentation of analysis results and problem solutions.

Concern for standards - High level of SHE and performance focus . Full compliance with KPI's.

Results orientation - On time delivery of reliability improvements
