The Position:
As the Mechanical Integrity Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting operations, maintenance, and project engineering teams. Your primary focus will be ensuring the integrity of all fixed equipment in alignment with best practices, industry codes and standards, and local jurisdictional requirements.
What You Will Do:
- Adhere to INEOS Standards: Follow and practice INEOS’ 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety and Life-Saving Rules.
- Manage Mechanical Integrity Program: Implement the Facility Mechanical Integrity Program to ensure safe, reliable operation and optimized asset performance.
- Inspection and Compliance Oversight: Maintain Mechanical Integrity Inspection databases (SAP and PCMS), oversee inspections/testing, ensure compliance with standards, and develop risk-based inspection programs.
- Budgeting and Planning: Generate yearly Mechanical Integrity budgets, project work scopes for inspections and repairs, and lead turnaround scope development in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Technical Support and Continuous Improvement: Provide technical support for troubleshooting, testing, and repairs, lead initiatives for reliability improvements, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment performance.
- Regulatory and Industry Standards Expertise: Stay updated on regulations, standards, and new technologies, ensuring proper integration of new fixed assets into the Mechanical Integrity Program.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor equipment performance data, predict failures, prepare and present reliability and integrity performance reports, including KPIs and recommendations.
What you will bring:
- Educational and Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or API certification with 15 years of industry experience.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a petrochemical or PSM-covered chemical processing plant.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in API codes (510, 570, 579, 580/581), ASTM specifications, ASME Section VIII Div 2, NACE standards, NBIC, and damage mechanisms.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory and state compliance standards, including RCRA, RCM, PSM, OSHA 1910.119, and TXDOA.
- Supervisory and Team Skills: Supervisory experience preferred; self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
- Equipment Knowledge: General understanding of reactors, exchangers, boilers, tanks, and related equipment.
- Non-Destructive Testing Expertise: Experience with non-destructive examination and testing methods.
Technical Skills:
- Mechanical Integrity Leadership: Expertise in leading MI program elements, including safety, risk, and fitness-for-service assessments for fixed equipment, relief systems, and rotational equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to perform calculations and conduct safety assessments to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
- Training and Development: Skilled in training process, project, and reliability engineers on MI processes and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborates effectively with maintenance, operations, and project teams to deliver robust MI management systems.
- Procedure Development: Develops and revises procedures related to mechanical integrity as needed to align with evolving requirements.
- Project and Contractor Leadership: Provides guidance and support for capital projects, process engineering, and contractors involved in MI program elements.
