We’re looking for an Asset Mechanical Engineer to join the INEOS Acetyls team a. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

You will be based at the Hull site, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings and textiles.
Hull is also home to the business's global Technology Development and Support Team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

The opportunity
The purpose of this role is provide Mechanical Engineering support to the Asset Engineer to ensure the operation remains compliant to regulatory requirements, asset safety, reliability, efficiency annual plan and performance improvement targets. This includes responsibility for maintaining the asset and protective systems integrity, technical support to day-to-day operations and development and implementation of short-to-medium term modifications, equipment replacement and maintenance strategies.

Key accountabilities
- Support day-to-day asset integrity and maintenance issues, maintain the asset and protective systems ensuring all critical assets and protective systems are identified and registered.
- Ensure planned schedules are in place for maintenance and testing of critical assets and protective systems and analyse the results from maintenance activities and tests.
- Support the Asset engineer to ensure mechanical systems operate in a safe and reliable manner.
- Network across the INEOS Acetyls assets, to ensure best practice is transferred across the site.
- Ensure all statutory mechanical inspections are completed in accordance with site or regulatory standards.
- Liase with various equipment manufacturer engineers, managers and technicians with regards to technical, procurement and service issues.
About you
We are looking for a degree qualified mechanical engineer with proven industrial experience, or equivalent experience base within a similar industry sector.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of mechanical working practices and procedures with practical experience. Experience of working on COMAH top tier chemical plant operations and maintenance activities would be an advantage.
A good understanding of maintenance strategies and integrity management principles is key along with an understanding of discipline improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with broader site teams, departments and functions.
The ability to balance conflicting demands in a continuously developing environment is also essential.
