INEOS has an exciting opportunity for Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our Composites business at Fort Smith, Arkansas Production Facility.

Job Function

As a part of the plant maintenance team, you will work with production personnel and contractors to maintain and repair equipment as needed. This position is also accountable for the proper operation of plant electrical equipment. Inadequate performance could result in injuries to the employee, people around, the community or the environment.  Poor performance can also cause damage to equipment, and downtime.  This would cause loss of product or product out of specifications.  This is a first shift role, Monday-Friday.

Essential Functions

  • Provides electrical support for lighting systems, power distribution up to 480v systems, pump and mixer motors, grounding systems, weight scales, sensors and industrial machinery.
  • Provides maintenance support to Plant Engineer. This includes working with other maintenance personnel, mechanical work, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and assisting with necessary documentation.
  • Provides electrical support for capital projects. This includes assisting in planning, running and connecting electrical power, participating in hazards reviews and performing or overseeing electrical work, start-up and debug
  • Safely and effectively troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various plant equipment
  • Motor alignment tasks, familiarity with layout / installation of rigid and flexible conduit including use of tube bending equipment.
  •  Other duties as required.

Work Environment

This position works in a plant environment. Extreme temperatures Loud noise (working in areas with loud running equipment. Using tools and equipment that makes noise) Heavy weightlifting (up to 50 lbs.) Climb ladders (up to 4 feet high as well as working on roofs (with fall protection)) Long periods –two to three hours- of standing in one place on a repair job, sometimes in awkward positions Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to chemicals or electrical hazards.  All of this equipment can be restrictive, cutting down visibility and is usually hot.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Mechanical aptitude, resourcefulness and creativity
  • OSHA 70E knowledge
  • Training on chemical and equipment hazards
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to read and understand PI&D’s and electrical schematics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Familiar with and can work with MS Word and Excel
  • Five years’ experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience with forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operation - preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to handle pressure and deal with deadlines
  • Must be reliable and able to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong mechanical skills and experience preferred but not required
  • PLC experience preferred but not required.
