Manufacturing Excellence (Capex) Engineer

Main role purpose:

The post holder supports the Capital Programme Manager to organise and prepare the monthly, annual, and multi-year plans in an effective and timely manner.  They work closely with a Capex Control Manager and will have a wide group of working relationships across all sites (manufacturing) and in central functions (SHE, RTE, MEX, IT, Finance, Commercial). INEOS Inovyn's capital programme is about 300M€ pa with 50 new approval requests being considered every month from 14 European manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Ensure the monthly programme of projects for approval are properly prepared for review and approval by the Exec.
  • Facilitate and ensure the Capex plans for commercial/business areas and sites are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the annual and longer-term programme and the business objectives and budgets are aligned.
  • Ensure project completion reviews are completed and trends and learning are included in improvement plans.
  • Ensure that the Capex processes and procedures (including Capex databases) used across the business are effective and developed for improvements and emerging issues.
  • Provide analysis and forecasts in conjunction with the Capex Control Manager. 

Key skills & experience:

  • Graduate engineer with 4-5 years relevant experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Results focused and able to challenge core assumptions and conclusions.
  • Able to follow basis of safety or engineering calculations.
  • Self-starter.
  • Teamworker.
  • Able to positively influence managers.
  • Proficient at use of spreadsheets and pivot tables.
  • Sharepoint and document management experience.
  • Experienced in project processes.
  • Experienced in financial modelling and benefits analysis.
