Responsibilities
- Responsible for governance and implementation of a compliant import & export customs organization allowing all Ineos Automotive legal entities to operate successfully and provide necessary training and counselling to employees
- Overall responsibility for set-up and operational execution of all relevant import & export customs processes
- Oversee assessment and monitoring of the potential qualification status of the model(s) in line with the relevant Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Ensuring that the Rules of Origin (Preferential) are met and secured to maximize profitability
- Ensure that all customs brokerage functions carried out by external parties are lean, compliant and risk free to support on time manufacture and delivery,
- Ensure the correct VAT and Duty frameworks are in place, VAT, EORI and IPR/OPR and AEO applications are made at the appropriate time to support material and equipment deliveries and act as escalation level for team.
- Work closely with wider INEOS Group Tax & VAT specialists, Finance, Transport management & Procurement/Material Planning to design and implement best-in-class solutions for INEOS Automotive and provide guidance and input for other Ineos Automotive departments such as After-Sales or Commercial to ensure duty savings are optimized by utilizing the relevant customs & indirect tax regimes and free trade agreements
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years in customs and leadership experience, ideally in a Management Role, and proven record of strategic or planning role at minimum
- Accreditation to a professional Customs or Trade body, e.g. MIEX
- Deep practical experience of UK, U.S. and European trade Regulations
- Experienced in operationalizing international trade legal requirements
- Confident in dealing with managers, Government officials and Lawyers
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of effective customs processes in critical supply chain operations. Including transportation, carrier management, lean inventory and vehicle export and import,
