Management Accountant

Responsibilities:

Accountability 1: Drive business planning and performance management process in business and joint ventures.

Most important activities:

  • Develop budgeting process and monthly review process for O&P Asia including Joint Ventures.
  • Drive annual plan process in O&P Asia and Joint Ventures.
    • Engage individual department (commercial, procurement, operation, HR and others) and gather financial drivers.
    • Build budget model and generate financial statements.
    • Advise management in terms of areas for improvement.
  • Provide monthly management report with insights and analytics in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Develop management report template.
    • Provide conversion cost and margin analysis by product group.
    • Provide fixed cost analysis to drive cost discussion and cost management.
    • Provide cash flow (including working capital) analysis to inform funding plan and decision making.
    • Provide EBITDA analytics and insights.
  • Provide ad hoc support to drive continuous performance improvement in business and joint ventures.
    • Dive into cost analysis in joint ventures.
    • Assess optimisation process in joint ventures.
    • Share learning from other INEOS sites with joint ventures in China in terms of performance optimisation.

Accountability 2: Provide support with general accounting and control activities.

Most important activities:

  • Assist Senior Business Controller, review and allocate fixed cost in INEOS entities.
  • Provide support to group requirements, e.g. five year plan, funding plan report, compliance report and other ad hoc reports.

Accountability 3: Support to M&A Projects

Most important activities:

  • Assist CFO and Senior Business Controller, provide analysis and financial advice to M&A projects:
    • Run valuation model.
    • Run funding plan and payment schedule.
    • Provide ad hoc analytical and advisory financial support to other teams (commercial, operation, legal).
    • Identify improvement opportunities and issues; and advise management on action plans to resolve.

Requirements:

Level of education & experience in general

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Accounting, Economics, Financial Management or related.
  • Excellent understanding chemicals industry financial, cost structure, and business process.
  • Experience in developing and working in Joint Ventures.
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience with multinational companies or joint ventures on financial analysis or controlling areas qualified CICPA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent preferred.

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of petrochemical value chain
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities and business understanding
  • Advance numeracy, accuracy and excellent attention to details
  • Excellent spreadsheeting skill
  • Commercial acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese

Behavioral skills

  • Highly motivated with a strong sense and ability to proactively engage internal and external stakeholders to develop value-added solutions and steer continuous improvement.
  • Ability to influence commercial and finance partners with negotiation and conflict resolving skills.
  • High willingness to learn and strong team spirit.
