Maintenance Technician / General Plant
Role Synopsis
The Maintenance Technician / General Plant serves as the Area Authority for General Plant activities and provides job representative duties to non-resident contractors performing work in Gen Plant. The Gen Plant Technician reports to and supports the Gen Plant Maintenance Team Leader. This role also supports Contractor Liaison activities.
This role is responsible to help maintain ~ 40 buildings and facilities as well as the surrounding 6000 acre grounds.
Key Accountabilities
- This position – and all positions – within the INEOS Aromatics organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing the INEOS Aromatics 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. Each employee must also commit to following the INEOS Aromatics Life-Saving rules and the site SHE Policies and Procedures including Stop Work Authority and Safe Work Guidelines daily.
- Provide supervision and leadership for on-site facilities contractors
- Be the primary advocate and interface with contractors to promote Ineos Safety Culture and compliance with Life-Saving rules and Safety Regulations
- Primary Area Authority for General Plant.
- Primary Job Representative for non-resident contractors working in Gen Plant.
- Support Gen Plant Maintenance Team Leader accountabilities as directed.
- Respond, troubleshoot, diagnose and plan repairs for Buildings, Grounds and Facility issues
Contractor Activities:
- Provide orientations to non-resident contractors as directed.
- Provide support in conducting Job Representative training.
- Support Contractor Liaison accountabilities as directed.
- The Liaison for Crane resources to troubleshoot / repair
- Manages overhead crane PMs and repairs
- Conduct inspections and repairs of roofs and cranes using aerial lifts
- Assist HVAC tech as needed with routine and emergent work
- Review and provide input on SOPs
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and procedures
Typical Activities
- Execute minor repairs on Buildings, Facilities and Grounds including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs
- Area Authority for General Plant Maintenance Permits
- Execute Proper Handover & Documentation transfer
- Assess and mitigate hazards/risk.
- Understands Control of Work & Permitting.
- Safely performs and verifies energy isolations for equipment, vessels, and piping for applicable gen plant equipment
- Work with appropriate personnel to ensure equipment is properly prepared for maintenance
- Provide job representative duties for non-resident contractors working in Gen Plant.
- Help support planning and execution of maintenance jobs in Gen Plant
- Provide on-site orientations to contractors
- Manage and support overhead crane planned and unplanned maintenance

- Contractor Liaison, Maintenance & Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, Planners
- Operations Management and Superintendent
- Capital Projects Contractor Liaison
- Engineering, both Cooper River site and third Party
Essential Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of industrial/manufacturing repair experience in one or more of the following: mechanical, electrical or multi-craft repair field
- A passing score on pre-employment tests, including job skill aptitude, reading & mathematics.
- The ability to read & follow detailed operating, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- The willingness & ability to be on call including nights, weekends & holidays.
- The willingness & ability to work in all weather conditions.

• Must be at least 18 years of age; legally authorized to work in the United States; and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., TN, H1B status), now or in the future.
• Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read English.
