Maintenance Supervisor

The INEOS EtAc plant at Hull is an upper tier COMAH registered plant, and the Maintenance Supervisor is a key role delivering the planning, organisation, leading and controlling of cost effective maintenance engineering, according to agreed maintenance plans for the plant to achieve safe, reliable, high-rate operation. This will be done via in-house and external resources, Service Provider Workforce and Service Providers working in close coordination with Operational Technicians within the Maintenance plans and procedures as well as the Site Safety Standing Orders (SSO’s).  The role is also key in ensuring both plants are maintained reliably and that statutory inspection requirements are fulfilled as per schedules detailed within the Maintenance Management System (SAP).

The role will also require some Engineering input to assist the Discipline Engineers in the execution of their duties, (e.g. shutdown planning and controlling, Permit acceptance) and might involve standing in for one of the plant discipline Engineers.

There will be some significant exposure to Working At Height and Confined Space Entry as part of the role, and there is the expectation that there may be additional hours required during busy periods and in the case of major plant breakdowns.

The Maintenance Supervisor will report to and account to the Mechanical Engineer.

The requirements of the role

  • Proven experience within the process/petrochemical industry preferred.
  • ONC qualifications in an engineering related subject
  • Experience in line management and working with maintenance teams preferred.

 The role accountabilities include the following:

  • Role model for safety and uphold the “INEOS 20 BEHAVIOURAL & PROCESS SAFETY PRINCIPLES” & “Life Saving Rules” in all activities undertaken, including managing integrity, and Control of Work
  • The day-to-day line management & leadership of the maintenance team, including planning and prioritisation of all day-to-day maintenance and engineering activities, including working with craft team, operations coordinators, other maintenance coordinators and trades supervisors on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all engineering and maintenance requests are executed as planned.
  • Assist in developing, executing and controlling maintenance plans, including Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) carried out by the inspectors and review of PM’s with Area Engineers and Maintenance Coordinator to ensure engineering and maintenance work meets plant reliability and safety KPI’s as well as being cost effective  
  • Manage the interface between INEOS Manufacturing and the engineering services providers, and coordinate work scopes and dates with the Maintenance Service Providers to ensure manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Cost control and monitoring,
  • Internal compliance with safety related systems, including ownership of specified HSSE relevant SSO’s, ensuring they are updated in line with legislative requirements.
  • Assist in developing and give input into the TAR/Shutdown Scope of work and monitor in event to ensure delivery against plan.
