The Position: Maintenance Supervisor  - Provide technical and personnel supervision for the sites overall maintenance process.  Also, implement, monitor and improve the process used for planning and scheduling site maintenance activities, including SAP maintenance module utilization.  Execute the Maintenance Work Management process (MWM) using the World Class Reliability (WCR) model. 

What you will do:  

  • Maintenance Asset Manager Delegate.
  • Ensure compliance with Mechanical Integrity and assigned Protective System inspections and develop an action plan to address gaps.
  • Supports integrity management.
    • Scheduling and planning of Preventative Maintenance.
    • Review task list to ensure proper maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and best engineering/maintenance practices.
    • Ensure adherence to all Maintenance procedures.
  • Lead/participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Participation as needed for incident investigations, Managemenet of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA.
  • Provide ownership of the site’s Maintenance Process, including Planning, Scheduling and SAP Maintenance Module utilization.
  • Cost center leader for Maintenance, along with providing ownership for the maintenance shop, and “central equipment”.
  • Focus on downtime/slowdown causes, develop plans to eliminate the causes, assure the plan’s approval. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s), such as percentage of work effort spent on preventative maintenance (PM) activities or downtime, schedule compliance and push for initiatives to improve performance against these.
  • Responsible for small site expenses or capital projects.
  • Accountable to schedule time for maintenance technicians, maintenance expenses to reinvest in the shop and individuals.
  • Accountable for maintenance technician capacity planning.

What you will bring:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with at least 7+ years of maintenance experience.  15+ years of maintenance experience without a degree will be considered.
  • 3-5 years supervisory, coordinator or group leader experience to direct and lead others.
  • Experience working in a chemical/petrochemical operating plant.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing related requirements/policies.
  • Must have SAP maintenance module experience, or equivalent software.
  • Capability of being both a team player and a team leader,
  • Proficiency in mathematical techniques as they apply to problem solving.
     

Physical demands:

  • Frequent viewing a computer monitor, stooping/crouching, balancing, climbing, twisting/turning, reaching above shoulder level, simple grasping/manipulation of both hands, exposure to dust/gas fumes, chemicals/solvents, temperature extremes, high noise levels and electrical sources.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, travel, pushing/pulling from a standing/seated position, kneeling, crawling, firm grasping of both hands, operating machinery, wearing occlusive clothing, exposure to allergic agents, enclosed spaces, wet conditions, and reduced lighting.  
  • Medical clearance needed to wear a respirator.

The Location: This opportunity is located in Channahon, Illinois, United States, only one hour from Chicago, Illinois.
