ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Maintenance Specialist Planner will provide support for the delivery of the Asset Maintenance Programme and longer term Asset strategy. Based within the Maintenance and Planning team, you will support the definition, preparation, scheduling and completion of Integrity, Preventive and Corrective works to maintain Plant availability.

Key accountabilities

  • Specifically for this role, but not limited to, support the completion of allocated Mechanical Statutory Inspection work scopes on the Utilities asset.
  • Within MAXIMO, prepare work orders (incl. the preparation of Scope Workpacks) as necessary for all resources required to successfully deliver the scope.
  • Preparation of a detailed scope of work document incl. site visits, photos, P&IDs, task breakdown and resource identification.
  • Completing preparation works in line with the maintenance workflow process and to meet target finish dates.
  • Identification of Safety, Health and Environment requirements of the task as part of preparation stage (identification of correct Method Statements / Risk Assessments / Safety Data Sheets (COSHH).
  • Use of Primavera P6 to correctly apply schedule logic in accordance with the scope of work task sequence.
  • Provision of updates of work progress gained via on-site supervision.
  • Preparing Risk Assessed Permit (RAP) documents as necessary and passing to Control Of Work (COW) team for checking and review of process release/isolation aspects etc.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Have relevant experience in Mechanical Maintenance Work Preparation, Planning or Project Engineering within the petrochemical (or similar) industry.
  • Be educated to HNC and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, preferably in a Mechanical bias.
  • Have a good understanding of typical maintenance workflow processes.
  • Have experience of using MAXIMO 7.6.
  • Have an awareness of scheduling theory and tools (Primavera).
  • Have an awareness of industry Governance, Standards, Procedures and Legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, etc).
  • Be able to manage multiple work packages at the same time.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work within a team or on your own.
  • Have good communication skills with the ability to chair meetings / host presentations. 
  • Have knowledge of heavy industry mechanical equipment: Pumps, Compressors, Piping, Vessels, Valves, Hoses, Tanks, etc.
