The Position:  The Maintenance & Reliability Manager role drives the change in culture for the maintenance organization towards a systemic approach utilizing World Class Reliability (WCR) practices and processes.  Deliverables include maximizing site on-stream time, minimizing repair expenses, and ensuring full compliance for regulatory requirements.  This position also provides direction and leadership as a member of the Site Manufacturing Leadership Team, including personnel development, for the maintenance group.  All of this in support of site manufacturing goals related to safety, environmental, quality, reliability, costs and personnel growth


What you will do: 
 

SHE

  • Understands and ensures to follow the 20 Principals of Behavioral and Process Safety.
  • Communicate and champion the 20 Safety Principles to empower and enable others.
  • Routinely interact with employees and contractors on Behavioral and Process Safety Principles concerns and issues, leading by example and setting the appropriate tone for Safey & Environmental performance.
  • Lead/participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with Mechanical Integrity and assigned Protective System inspections and develop an action plan to address gaps.
  • Validate that PSM, MOC, and PHA processes are being initiated and completed appropriately.

TEAM LEADER

  • Supervise the site’s maintenance and reliability personnel, to ensure safe, environmentally sound and efficient activities.  Develop and communicate clear goals and standards for team members.  Ensure professional and career development for all team members.
  • Accountable for the development and compliance training (content or programs) for all department personnel.  This includes the internship programs.  (Mechanical & IE)
  • Champion new ideas, inspire for excellence and trust, and foster a team environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

MAINTENANCE SERVICE PROVIDER FOR ALL SITE ASSETS

  • Accountable for the site’s maintenance process, focusing on achieving World Class reliability.  Ensure maintenance processes are high quality and fully implemented.  Focus on identifying downtime/slowdown causes and developing plans to eliminate them.
  • Accountable for site reliability engineering efforts, in support of manufacturing objectives and standards. This includes End-Of-Life equipment strategy development and License to Operator (LTO) programs: Code Inspection, Pressure Relief Devices Inspection/Certifications and Radiation Safety.
  • Accountable for the Asset Management Program.
  • Responsible for the oversite of the Vibration Analysis and IR Thermography programs performed through the reliability engineer.
  • Accountable for maintenance fixed costs.
  • Responsible for the execution, planning, scheduling and work order closure of the Maintenance Work Management (MWM) program. 
  • Accountable for the Materials Master for new parts and responsible of sourcing through the procurement process.
  • Implement and communicate business strategies and new technologies; stay current in new technologies.

TAR MANAGER

  • Responsible for the coordination of the site’s TAR program, this includes coordination of TAR preparation and execution.


What you will bring: 
 

  • Level of education & knowledge: 
    • Requires a BS in engineering (mechanical preferred) with at least 5-10 years of maintenance and reliability experience, including supervision.
       
  • Experience in general: 
    • Chemical/petrochemical operating plant preferred and should include understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.  Demonstrated proficiency in reliability based maintenance techniques and formal problem solving skills.
       
  • Technical skills: 
    • Proficiency with various software programs, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
       
  • Competencies, Behavioral skills: Demonstrated willingness to perform in a team environment and with little routine supervision. Also, demonstrated ability to supervise or coordinate field activities (contractors, etc.)
    • Leadership -The ability to create a motivating climate, achieve teamwork, train and develop, measure work in progress, and take corrective action.  The ability to guide and inspire employees to meet maximum potential and to foster high standards.

    • Safety, Health and EnvironmentalFollowing procedures established for safety, health, security and environmental compliance including attending training.

    • CommunicationThe ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner (both verbal and written) and to accurately hear and understand the unspoken or partly expressed thoughts, feelings and concerns of others. In addition, it describes the ability to use the right communication tool in critical situations and to communicate in a manner that helps all parties understand the views and thoughts of others.

    • Planning and Organizing / Time ManagementThe ability to plan, prioritize and organize work, set goals, develop plans of action, and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
