Maintenance Mechanic

The Position: This function exists to support the site operations by maintaining mechanical process equipment and associated mechanical systems in good operating order through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, installation and modification activities.
What you will do:
- This position - and all positions - within the INEOS Styrolution organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the positon. These are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility.
- Communicate and champion the 20 Safety Principles to empower and enable others.
- Preserve high standards of housekeeping and organization.
- Participation as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA.
- Support integrity management by completing assigned Preventative Maintenance and ensure proper follow through on reliability concerns.
- Maintain in depth knowledge of maintenance procedures for all assigned areas; process, utilities, material handling, warehouse, laboratory, administration and maintenance.
- Maintain legible and accurate records of preventive maintenance tasks, failure causes, man hours worked, and parts/material used in SAP and/or hard copy as assigned or required.
- Maintain knowledge of chemicals and wastes generated in assigned areas including proper management of containers, labeling, storage, transfer and proper spill response.
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with all applicable site safety, housekeeping, environmental, quality, and industrial hygiene standards and practices.
- Undergo training and demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of assigned areas as directed or required.
- Wrench manipulation for bolt, stud and nut removal and installation.
- Expected to equally participate in the emergency call-out process.
What you will bring:
- Level of education & knowledge:
- High School Diploma

- Experience in general:
- 5 years related industrial maintenance experience
- Successful completion of all mandatory safety and environmental orientation training.
- Technical skills:
- Working knowledge to be acquired on the job include compressor and pump rebuilding, engine overhaul, refrigeration, insulation, pipefitting, welding and cutting.
- Demonstrated use of Safety procedures
- Basic process knowledge and site layout
- Basic repair of pumps, basic welding skills, basic pipefitting skills, basic troubleshooting skill
- Demonstrated ability to pull, inspect, and document PSVs and PSEs for PSM
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand P&Ids
- Demonstrated ability to perform the following tasks in SAP: Create, release, and process work orders and notifications, pull up backlog list and create weekly schedule, order parts through SAP, fill out time confirmations in SAP
- Trained and certified to run the man lift and the forklift
- Demonstrate ability to perform laser alignment and belt alignment
- Ability to perform area specific tasks such as: Cuno filter change out (HIPS Units), Pelletizer PM (Units), Kontro/Dickow Pump PM, Rotary Valve PM and repair
- High degree of mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to overhaul/repair the following: Centrifugal and PD Pumps, couplings (Gear, Universal Joints, and Shim Packs), fans/compressors/blowers, gearboxes, lab equipment, pelletizers (for units only), diverter valves (for units only)
- High degree of Process Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to perform the following tasks in SAP (in addition to those identified for a Mechanic II): Search for equipment work order history, update Bill of Materials
- Trained and certified to run the crane
- Demonstrate knowledge on proper installation and handling of mechanical seals
- Demonstrate machine tool proficiency
- Advanced trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills (root cause determination)

- Physical demands:
- Continuous standing over 7 hours
- Frequent lifting up to 10lbs, pushing/pulling while seated/standing, crouching, climbing, twisting/turning, reaching above shoulder level, simple/firm grasping, fine manipulation, exposure to temperature extremes and high noise level.
- Occasional sitting and viewing CRT monitor, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, kneeling, crawling, balancing, operating machinery, exposure to dust/gas fumes, chemicals/solvents, allergic agents, enclosed spaces, wet conditions, reduced light levels and electrical sources.
- Climbing stairs to the second and third levels of process structures on a regular basis (estimated 6-7 times per day). Occasional use of ladders and mechanical man-lifts.
- Medical clearance to wear a half-face respirator.
- Wear a full body harness for fall protection.
