How the Role fitsIn:

This position is responsible for supporting the facility-wide maintenance activities to ensure safe, responsive, high quality and economical maintenance services. This position will be providing technical support for all disciples in maintenance with emphasis on improving equipment reliability, ensuring quality services and repairs are being performed, reducing maintenance costs and providing technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process problems. This position will also be managing some individual capital projects assigned to the maintenance departmentThe incumbent will routinely utilize SAP and Micro-soft Projects to perform the job function.

RESPONSIBILITIESAND ACCOUNTABILITIES

SHE Stewardship

  • Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.

  • Understand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.

  • Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.

  • Ensure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.

Work Duties

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, assure that all personnel are made aware of safe working practices, and promote safety programs especially “Coaching for Safety” in the office and in the field.

  • Communicate and promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible

  • Comply with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and meet internal SHE objectives

  • Ensure that all work activities are executed with safety being the first priority and that everyone has the duty to “Stop Work” if they feel the situation is unsafe.

  • Ensure environmental compliance in all work activities.

  • Complete annual safety training and conduct necessary SHE training as required.

  • Provide technical support and recommendations to improve overall equipment reliability.

  • Optimize current predictive and preventive maintenance tasks and activities, identifying gaps and developing corrective action plans, driving implementation and evaluating improvement performance.

  • Monitor and evaluate “Top Ten” equipment failures making recommendations to improve their Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor with obtaining, managing and analyzing equipment vibration data.

  • Provide mechanical knowledge to support maintenance efforts to ensure equipment reliability, reduced maintenance costs and minimum unplanned downtime.

  • Improve maintenance work efficiency by implementing precision maintenance techniques.

  • Assist Maintenance Supervisors with ensuring quality services and repairs are being provided.

  • Manage safety relief valve inspections and recertification adjusting the frequency of inspections based on past performance.

  • Evaluate current equipment spare parts inventory to ensure spare parts are available for critical equipment. 

  • Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.

  • Plan and manage capital projects assigned to the maintenance department.

  • Includes cost and schedule accountability for assigned projects

  • Assist the maintenance staff with developing the annual maintenance budget.

  • Assist the maintenance staff in developing the major turnaround (TAR) budget (every 3 years).

  • Assist the maintenance staff with the planning, scheduling and execution of the major turnaround (TAR) every 3 years.

  • Assume the Maintenance Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGEREQUIRED

Education/Experience

B.S in Mechanical Engineering with five (5) years relevant experience in industrial environment.

The incumbent must be technical sound, result-oriented, decisive and have good human relation skills.

SAP skills are a plus. This includes, but not limited to, reviewing equipment work order history, evaluating equipment maintenance costs, reviewing preventative maintenance plans, creating purchase requisitions, creating and changing notifications and work orders.

Skills/Competencies

The use of the following office equipment will be required: Personal computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier, printer, scanner, fax

The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Skype, Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project

The use of the following site systems could be required: Emerson Distributive Control System, PI Data Historian, COA Database, Training Mine, Alfresco Document Management, Esker

Have a strong mechanical background in an industrial environment

Knowledge of safety, maintenance, and operations management systems

Be able to read and understand technical drawings and documentation associated with production equipment, vessels and tankage.

Be able to communicate effectively both orally and written 

Work and interact effectively as a team member.

Focuses efforts and prioritizes work to deliver business value.

Providing constructive feedback to peers

Effectively organizes work while balancing competing priorities.

Proficient in use of SAP or similar program, Excel, Outlook or Lotus notes, and MS Word

Proficient in Micro-Soft Projects scheduling or similar software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions:  One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin:  fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

  • The worker is subject to oils:  There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
