The Position: Maintenance Contract Coordinator  - The purpose of this position is to optimize the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of routine and non-routine contracted maintenance work in line with all legal requirements and company standards with respect to health, safety, environment, product, quality and cost by planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling the contracted work activities and monitoring performance.  This position is not eligible for relocation.

What you will do:  

  • Maintain strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, rules, and procedures. Follow all safety and process safety protocols and procedures. Actively participate to maintain and improve safety performance.
  • Conduct JSAs with the contractor crews at job site; check-in with them during job execution to ensure safe work practices are applied.
  • Works with INEOS Styrolution site safety representatives and contractors to develop safety execution plans.
  • Make changes in contractor maintenance corrective and preventive orders such as; updating operations, performing “Goods Issue”, and completing reservations and requisitions.
  • Identify and take action to eliminate productivity barriers.
  • Ensure contracted service workers work cooperatively with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all scaffold, crane, material, bolt torque, hydro testing, loops sign off, and final inspection requirements are met.
  • Use, create or modify job plans in SAP for contracted maintenance services.
  • Provide guidance for the receiving and quality control inspections for non-stores materials on a daily basis, to help accurately record receipts and payables throughout the workday.
  • Serve as a TAR field coordinator for planning and contractor execution activities.

What you will bring:

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or 10 years of directly related experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience at an industrial chemical manufacturing plant or similar environment.
  • Must have SAP maintenance module experience, or equivalent software.  
  • Understands the basic principles of mechanical, electrical and piping systems.
  • Understands construction quality assurance and control.
  • Understand different methods of project delivery and the roles and responsibilities of all constituencies involved in the design and construction process.
  • Analyze methods, materials, and equipment used to execute projects/repair work.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and the maintenance work management processes.
  • Ability to positively influence others and effectively work with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Makes timely and effective decisions, including use of good judgement and consideration of proper balance between benefits/risk.

Physical demands:

  • Frequent viewing a computer monitor, stooping/crouching, balancing, climbing, twisting/turning, reaching above shoulder level, simple grasping/manipulation of both hands, exposure to dust/gas fumes, chemicals/solvents, temperature extremes, high noise levels and electrical sources.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, travel, pushing/pulling from a standing/seated position, kneeling, crawling, firm grasping of both hands, operating machinery, wearing occlusive clothing, exposure to allergic agents, enclosed spaces, wet conditions and reduced lighting.
  • Operation of a forklift.

The Location: This opportunity is located in Channahon, Illinois, United States, only one hour from Chicago, Illinois.
