about the role
Lead the Central Maintenance Management team that defines, implements and governs all FPS Work Management (WM) processes that will reduce asset risk, improve field work efficiency and contractor commercial performance.
The function will also provide a central view of short, medium and longer-term activity to enable efficient and effective planning, supported by effective performance reporting, and business decisions.
Success in the role will be measured through improvements in process efficiency delivered through optimised planning, forward look-ahead, job-bundling, scope optimisation, plan steadiness and plan stage-gate readiness.
What does the day to day look like?
- Lead the central maintenance team, that provides support to the the wider FPS asset and functional teams to deliver efficient and cost effective work management processes.
- Provides assurance for the integrity of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) functionality ensuring ongoing alignment with approved maintenance strategies.
- Drive integration of all short medium and long term activity plans across FPS: Including maintenance, integrity, production planning, TAR, SUM and capital projects
- Assurance of effective Work Management performance delivery at FPS, through:
- Standardised processes – as documented in the FPS Management System;
- Maintenance KPI & Dashboard sets;
- Maintenance Reports;
- System work-flow alignment;
- Integration with wider FPS business and ways of working across other functional groups including Asset, Projects and Finance areas.
- Supports Control of Work process, setting and improving readiness, compliance and minimising waste permit preparatory effort for the operations teams
- Chair Work Management forums to co-ordinate all planning and look-ahead activity and
- Establishes and maintains performance overview of key contracts used during execution of maintenance activities.
- Supports tenders/ contract negotiation and setup, improvement programmes, supplier performance management and adoption of latest technology and reporting.
The successful candidate will be given an exciting opportunity to build and develop a centralised work management function that will integrate a wide range of activities spanning maintenance, planning, control of work, cost assurance and procurement.
The initial focus of the role will be to develop a suite of new processes and supporting IT systems that will transform the FPS approach to work management.
The post holder will be required to engage with a wide range of different functional leaders and departments and align them with the transformational activity required to establish a new and efficient Work Management Programme.
what do I need?
- Degree qualification in relevant Engineering Discipline
- Extensive subject matter expertise in maintenance, planning, scheduling, contract management and systems e.g. scheduling tools (P6) and CMMS
- Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of Turnaround outage management; Integrity management processes; Maintenance and production optimisation; Cost management/financial planning processes.
- Candidates will have a good appreciation of best practice techniques and systems within the work management arena.
- Candidates will be experienced leaders with the drive and proven capability to influence and shape change across an organisation.
- Requires highly developed project and change management skills.

Formal Interview
Successful applicants will be invited to face to face interview, which will consist of behavioural and technical questions. For some roles the recruitment process may also include technical testing, behaviour questionnaires and/ or a delivering a presentation.
