Logistics Specialist
Role synopsis:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for supporting the Logistics & Customer Service Manager and Logistics team with the execution of specific logistics functions. This includes resolving truck and rail freight payment discrepancies, developing and maintaining documented processes and providing general SAP maintenance/backup support and becoming SAP subject matter expert with responsibility for testing and validation of SAP upgrade. Additionally, the role will provide support to the Customer Service team for order entry and vacation/out of office coverage.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Responsible for handling the entire order-to-cash process for assigned accounts. Provide back-up to other Acetyls Customer Service Representatives.
- Responsible and be the lead for rail demurrage process on a quarterly basis.
- Serve as customer advocate by understanding customer requirements and expectations and acting as liaison between the customer and INEOS support services, including credit, logistics, Product Manager, Eastman manufacturing, and the Sales managers.
- Work directly with the Sales Managers to build customer loyalty through exceptional service and attention to special needs of the account
- The Customer Service Representative builds customer loyalty and confidence, enhances sales for INEOS, demonstrates in-depth job knowledge, supports teamwork, commits to personal development, and always exhibits professionalism.
- Work closely with INEOS Logistics and the Inventory Coordinator to make appropriate decisions as to the entire supply chain from production to terminal to customer.
- Travel with Sales Managers a few times per year to meet customers in person to establish strong relationship and better understand customers’ hurdles, needs and requirements.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Education/Experience
- Degree level education in logistics or equivalent experience
- 5 years’ work experience in customer service, logistics or operations within the petrochemical industry preferred
- Experience in technical and commercial functions – customer service, logistics, business management
Technical skills
- SAP knowledge and experience
- Relationship management
- Logistics operations understanding
- Sound understanding of several logistics modes (rail, road, marine)
- Strong competence with standard business software (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
