The opportunity

The INEOS Acetyls Europe Supply Chain Team are responsible for the safe and efficient logistics services for both raw materials and finished products. As the Logistics Specialist you will be responsible for daily optimisation of a multi modal logistics network including Terminals, Road, Rail, Shipping & Barging activity to deliver best in class cost to serve and customer service. 

You will also be responsible for effective raw material and finished product stock management of the INEOS Acetyls Europe terminal portfolio in line with customer order profile, business requirements and terminal replenishment plans. You will be a key member of the INEOS Acetyls Europe Commercial Team and key stakeholders include Customer Service, Sales, and Business teams.

Key accountabilities

  • To coordinate the daily Supply Chain / Logistics activities for the Methanol raw material supply into Hull, ensuring safe, cost effective and high-quality services.  Ensuring the optimal Methanol stock availability in line with production requirements and Methanol Supply contracts.
  • Responsible for the KPI creation, monitoring and performance tracking of all Logistics Service Providers.  Providing a monthly dashboard and defining required action plans in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Customer Service Manager.
  • Provide seamless cover of other members of the Supply Chain team associated with Shipping, Barging and Rail activities.
  • Effectively manage Logistics Service Providers to ensure contractual operational, quality & financial performance is maintained. Ensure effective interventions are made to address any non-conformance and to achieve agreed performance levels. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a logistics / supply chain / stock management environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving and influencing skills to provide the best business outcome in a dynamic work environment.

An excellent understanding of supply chain / logistics and customer specific requirements is essential, as is excellent written/oral communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.

You will have strong time management, organisation and solving skills and will be highly motivated, self-reliant with a proactive mindset.

An understanding of basic product characteristics and high consequence dangerous goods logistics (i.e. flashpoints, freezing points, ADR etc.) would be an advantage as would experience using SAP and MS Office applications. You will also need to be advanced in the use of MS Excel.

As we operate 24/7 and co-ordinate the supply chain across Europe, you will need to be comfortable working bank holidays when required.
