about the role
The Major Events Lead Planner is a key position in the FPS Organisation, helping to deliver business-critical Turnarounds (TARs) and Projects that meet safety, cost and duration targets. You will lead all planning and scheduling activity for the team, working with management, contractors, engineers and specialists in all disciplines. You will be developing and optimising plans for all TAR/Project phases, controlling the worklists and scope changes, running constructability reviews, issuing progress reports and ensuring any risks to the schedule are minimised. The role is based primarily in Grangemouth and Dalmeny/Hound Point, however there may be some requirement for occasional travel to other FPS locations (e.g. Pipelines, Cruden Bay).
What does the day to day look like?
Your main accountabilities will be to;
Lead all Major Events planning activity, including managing and coaching any temporary or contract planning resources, setting expectations and standards for the team.
Adhere to and promote Ineos 20 Principles and 7 Life Saving Rules to colleagues and external vendors.
Develop, optimise and communicate event plans to support the Major Events Team in delivery of key milestones.
Review third party schedules and incorporate these into the overall plans, highlighting and managing any inter-dependencies and risks to the event cost and duration.
Generate reports on progress, critical path status, float and activity slippage and communicate these to the key stakeholders.
Provide detailed forecasts of all engineering, management, asset and construction resources required to deliver Major Events against agreed objectives.
Lead Constructability and Schedule Risk Reviews generating recommendations to optimise duration and minimise risk to successful delivery.
Owns the Major Events function planning process and produces planning standards and procedures as and when required.
During event preparation phases, you would work in the Ineos HQ2 office alongside the Major Events Leadership Team and your colleagues in the Planning and Controls Function. As scope is developed, you would regularly visit the relevant site to ensure the plans accurately reflect the scope and take into account all site characteristics. During the execution phase you would be based on site with the wider execution team and be leading the daily coordination meetings.
what do I need?
HNC or NVQ level 4 in relevant discipline or minimum 10 years’ experience in similar role.
Ability to work with authority and credibility at all levels within the organisation.
Strong project management and planning aptitude with good leadership qualities including team and individual supervision.
Prior experience in planning roles in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Refining or similar technical industries.
Expert knowledge of Primavera P6.
Working knowledge of Maximo or similar MMS system.
Working knowledge of schedule risk software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
Be a logical and practical thinker with sound troubleshooting skills. Have the ability to rationalize technical and logistical problems.
