Purpose of role

  • Lead Mechanical Maintenance Technician must be able to lead other technicians and contractors in completing mechanical maintenance work.
  • Able to provide failure diagnosis and troubleshooting so that damage can be repaired.
  • Able to lead his team to complete turbomachinery, big machinery, and other mechanical work.

 

Key Results/ Accountabilities

People management:

  • Lead daily maintenance contractor to perform daily patrol to find out irrationality of static equipment.
  • Actively share their knowledge to train/mentor other team members, including both maintenance and operations, to foster their development, including required safety training control systems, troubleshooting capabilities and other skills as identified.

 

Safety and compliance management:

  • Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery.
  • Report all injuries and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in accident incident investigations
  • Responsible to socialize HITRA and Risk assessment of the job to the contractor.

 

Plant Integrity, reliability, and Availability delivery:

  • Provide support to operations in running the machines at the operating window to maximize efficiency and productivity and assist troubleshooting issues.
  • Follow work order process effectively from notification till completion of work with proper documentation of maintenance history, report, and input data activity in SAP, to ensure safety, efficient, quality and priority are met.
  • Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for non-operating events and work to eliminate the root cause for continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems by utilizing standardized problem-solving techniques, verifying that proper investigative actions are completed so that root causes may be quickly identified.
  • Performing basic care rounds, ensuring that all equipment is inspected as specified by the Reliability-Centered-Maintenance requirements.
  • Actively share their knowledge to train/mentor other team members, including both maintenance and operations, to foster their development, including required safety training control systems, troubleshooting capabilities and other skills as identified.

 

Planning and work order process:

  • Effectively utilize and maintain the SAP Plan Maintenance System, including following all computer based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.
  • Responsible to control usage spare part during daily maintenance and Turnaround.

 

Key challenges faced on the role:

  • With a limited number of personnel from both INEOS maintenance technicians and contractors but must still be able to complete the work on time, on time and of good quality.
  • Ensure work can be done at normal hours rather than overtime even though manpower is limited in number and work is much.
  • Control maintenance costs by ensuring that part replacements are done correctly, optimizing repairs in internal workshops, and localizing spare parts at local manufacturers.

Participate in organizational improvement teams, e.g. Safety Committee, Quality Improvement, Productivity / Cost Reduction Teams, etc. assigned on a rotating basis.

 

Education & preferred skill

  • Minimum 7 years Diploma Mechanical Engineering and work experienced of petrochemical, or oil and gas plant experienced.
  • Minimum 15 years High school and work experienced of petrochemical or oil & gas plant and turbo machinery.
  • Experience in leading trouble shooting and quick repair of mechanical equipment/facilities under urgent situation to minimize breakdowns.
  • Experienced in applying advanced technologies and best practices of Mechanical maintenance in powerplant, oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Has knowledge and skills on maintenance system and process, such as preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment specific maintenance plan, SAP, and work order process etc.
  • Language skillful English reading, writing.
  • Skillful Personal Computer

 

Experience

  • Has basic knowledge for Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Has knowledge for maintain and repair static equipment such as Heat exchanger, tower, Furnace, drum, vessel, valve, piping component, vacuum breaker, flexible joint, bolt and nut, gasket material and check valve.
  • Has experience for repair and PM steam, rotary tube dryer, turbomachinery, vacuum pump, vacuum filter, agitator, and general rotating equipment.
  • Able to do alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Able to interpret working procedure.
  • Has knowledge of measurement and general tools.
  • Able to read equipment cross drawing and isometric drawing.
  • Has knowledge of FRP and cement lining piping.
  • Able to work independently to repair static & rotating equipment.
  • Able to lead the daily maintenance contractor to perform maintain and repair static & rotating equipment.
  • Must service oriented.
  • Able to write maintenance report and equipment problem report.
  • Quick response to call-out is required.
