The Location:
This opportunity is located in Pasadena Texas
The role:
Provide routine analytical data on styrene plant raw materials, intermediates, waste and finished products to production, utilities, environmental, and logistics departments using analysis of samples to support both the Texas City and Bayport plants.
What you will do:
This position – and all positions - within the INEOS Styrolution organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following and practicing INEOS Life Saving Rules and INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. These are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility.
Additionally, this role is expected to:
- Intervene to stop unsafe work
- Observe and follow all rules and procedures
- Ensure the permitting process creates a safe work environment through proper risk assessments
- Report all incidents including activations of safety critical alarms/systems or exceedances of operating envelopes in a timely manner.
- Participate as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
- Generate Certificates of Analysis, release product shipments (barges/ships), and verify proper inhibitor addition.
- Enter data and generate reports using LIMS and SAP systems.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on lab equipment and maintain adequate laboratory supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and proper waste disposal protocols.
- Work a 12-hour rotating schedule and provide overtime support as required.
What you will bring:
- A.S. or B.S. degree in Chemistry or related field with three (3) years laboratory experienced in a chemical laboratory (preferred) OR
- High School diploma or G.E.D. with five (7) years laboratory experience in a chemical laboratory
- Able to work a rotating 12-hour shift, Available for overtime.
Technical Skills:
- Apply knowledge of chemistry, math (through algebra), and analytical procedures to perform and interpret laboratory tests.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical instruments such as GCs and other lab equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and ensure data integrity within LIMS, ChemStation, and SAP systems.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills to identify and resolve analytical issues.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and lab-related software effectively; experience with Baytek LIMS, Agilent ChemStation, and SAP is a plus.
- Manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
