We’re looking for a Lab IT and Data Systems Lead to join the INEOS Acetyls team. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and a range of derivatives across Europe, Asia and America. We’re part of INEOS - one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.

You will be based at the Hull site, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings and textiles.

Hull is also home to the business's global Technology Development and Support Team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

As IT and Data Systems Lead you will be required to take ownership and lead the management of tasks around IT and Lab Information Management Systems, and other digital systems within our analytical laboratory environment.

The role provides deep technical IT, network and systems support and insights to pro-actively resolve issues to ensure the continued operations of our essential laboratory IT infrastructure.

You will work closely with business IT and the Hull manufacturing Process Automation Team to deliver laboratory IT infrastructure compliant with IT and digital security policies.

About you

To be successful you’ll need a relevant HNC qualification or above, together with previous experience of supporting a wide range of IT systems and specialist applications from a LAN to more scientific software such as Atlas, LabVantage and EZChrom.

You’ll also need to be organised, a natural trouble-shooter, efficient and able to work independently.  It’s essential that you can communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

You will need to have a strong sense of customer service, excellent attention to detail, ownership of process and tasks, computer skills, and ability to adapt to new systems/technologies.
