INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Scientist to join our INEOS Composites business at our Porvoo Plant (Finland). This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Technology function. This position will report to our Technology Manager Corrosion.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

  • Evaluates and characterizes properties of our materials for resistance against various organic and inorganic substances and verifies the compliance with the established specifications and standards.
  • Develop testing protocols, collects and evaluates data.
  • Perform laboratory work using equipment such as laboratory reactors, mixers and various analytical equipment.
  • Runs independently projects based agreed project milestones for corrosion segment.
  • Develops approach, analyse results and provide recommendations for problem solution.
  • Assists other Scientist / or Researchers on projects, and works in close co-operation with remote technical service team
  • Communicates with customers results and recommendations for usage of DERAKANE product line

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:



Level of education & Experience in general

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in chemistry (Organic or Polymer Chemistry preferred), experience in material science and physical characterization is a plus
  • Ideally one to two-year experience in technical field for polymers or organic chemistry is preferred.

Technical skills

  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English and desirable Finnish
  • Strong communication skills is a must as working in a pan-European team
