ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Analyst to support strategies, policies and processes to deliver IT Infrastructure technical support within budget and resourcing constraints. The post-holder will be responsible for various tasks to support and maintain & provide ongoing support for IT Infrastructure environments, including; Telecoms, Networks, Storage, Servers, Virtualization and Backup\Disaster Recovery.

The post holder will work with other IT Team members at Grangemouth, Aberdeen and on occasion, globally across INEOS group to identify, troubleshoot and resolve any issues which impact service delivery. Providing technical input to troubleshoot, resolve operational issues and report any High Priority and Critical Issues to the Infrastructure Team Leader ensuring uninterrupted service disruptions are kept to a minimum and within the agreed SLAs.

The post holder will work closely with the IT Infrastructure Team Lead to deliver a cost effective and reliable service to the business, aligning with business Service Level Agreements. The post holder will also work closely with the Projects Manager to support of delivery of a portfolio of infrastructure projects, providing technical input & providing feedback to scope small, medium and large-scale IT projects.

Key accountabilities

  • To support IT Infrastructure Technology Strategy to achieve business goals, ensuring alignment with all sites, functions and INEOS Group.
  • Work with vendors and outsourced partners to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Recommend IT solutions to facilitate business process improvement.
  • Hands on and hands off problem solving abilities.
  • To ensure that helpdesk tickets assigned to the Infrastructure Team are resolved within the Service Level Agreement.
  • Monitor and maintain IT Services and effectively manage any interruptions to normal services.
  • To identify any key IT Infrastructure vulnerabilities to the IT Infrastructure Team Lead and provide recommendations to support appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Ensuring that operational system changes follow IT change management processes.

  • Additional out of hours working to meet business demands.
  • The role is part of the Back Office on call rota.

ABOUT YOU

Education & Experience

  • HNC / NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent work place experience.
  • Considerable experience in an infrastructure or technical operations role. 
  • Demonstrable experience senior level support including Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Backup\Disaster Recovery, Networks and Telecoms.  
  • Experience with service providers to ensure appropriate services and resources are available to support infrastructure estate.

Technical Skills

  • Comprehensive experience of administration, management and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server Operating systems.
  • Comprehensive track record working with VMWare technologies and architectures.
  • Good level of understanding of Backup, Disaster Recovery and High Availability using Veeam.
  • High level understanding of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8000, HPE Alletra and HPE StoreOnce.
  • Knowledge of creating PowerShell scripting/automation.
  • Knowledge of client and server patching using WSUS and Ivanti Security Controls.
  • Experience of packaging, testing and deployment of software and updates using SCCM\MECM.
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining up to date desktop image(s) using MDT.
  • Good level of understanding of Network and Server Security/Management.

Additional Skills

  • High level understanding of Cloud Infrastructure exposure (Azure and O365 Desirable).
  • Certification (Microsoft, VCP, HPE Desirable).
