ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for an IT Applications Systems Engineer to support troubleshooting & resolution of system issues and unplanned outages. The IT Systems Engineer will provide input into technical solutions for new project activities whilst implementing & testing business applications, working closely with other members of the IT Team and when required the business users.
Key accountabilities
- Provide application support for specific business applications relevant to experience. Ensuring compliance with IT processes & standards, including change management
- Install & test business applications both in-house developed & 3rd party purchased in conjunction with business users.
- Regular review of incoming support issues to ensure resolution within a timely manner.
- Update support documentation & procedures to ensure that they meet the goals of simplicity and efficiency in working practices.
- Providing technical support for small & medium sized projects tasks to ensure they are delivered on time; within budget and meeting the stated business requirements.
- Responsibility to ensure that all applications support & disaster recovery documentation is kept updated for supported application systems.
- Accountable for source code control within your area of expertise.
- Assist in delivering applications IT Strategy in alignment the INEOS Refining & O&P UK roadmaps to achieve business goal.

ABOUT YOU
Required:
- Proficient with Windows and Windows Server operating systems.
- Prior experience in the installation, testing and support of bespoke developed & 3rd party purchased software applications.
- Able to provide support for small sized projects tasks to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meet the stated business requirements.
- Be able to create and maintain support documentation & standard operating procedures to ensure that they are up to date and conform to requirements.
- Ability to organise and prioritise requests/incidents.
- Ability to work to and maintain IT processes & standards, including IT change management.
- Undertake remote support as a member of the IT Apps Team On Call rota.
Desired:
- An awareness and understanding of software licensing agreement maintenance.
- Experience of IT service management tools.
- Familiarity of databases such as Oracle (11g and above) and SQL Server (2014 and above) and database programming languages such as SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL.
- Knowledge of one or more of ASP, .NET, Apex, and MS Access
- Skills coding in languages such as VBScript, VBA, JavaScript, PowerShell and MS DOS.
- Experience of business intelligence, visualisation and reporting tools such as Business Objects, QlikView, QlikSense, Birt, SSRS and Power BI.
