ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Applications Team Leader is offered as a permanent position and you should have a background in managing a diverse applications portfolio.

This role combines technical understanding and ability with managerial responsibility and involves leading a team of application support system engineers undertaking support and development work for three separate INEOS business. You will also be responsible for managing 3rd party contracts.

You will oversee the daily management, ensure delivery meets SLAs, manage application system support issue resolution and interface with the other teams including Service Desk, Infrastructure and Cyber Security. As IT Applications Team Leader, you will collaborate with your team to implement technical solutions to meet business needs and IT Group Standards. You will also progress and develop team standards and procedures to align with the wider IT Strategy.

The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with key stakeholders across the three INEOS businesses to identify and agree business requirements, to shape tasks and to agree priorities to support business need.

You will create, implement and maintain an applications roadmap to ensure that application systems are kept up to date, meet the latest IT security standards and versions are kept up to date. You will identify and implement service improvement initiatives.

The post holder must be able to travel to Grangemouth.

ABOUT YOU

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of direct reports
  • Undertake technical support and development tasks
  • Liaise with stakeholders to define business requirements
  • Develop a roadmap to ensure that application systems are maintained to meet agreed technical standards
  • Support and implement IT Strategy
  • Implement and manage a continuous improvement methodology
  • Work closely with the project manager to support project activities & balance team resources between operational and project tasks
  • Manage BAU handover
  • Work toward and maintain a Cybersecurity standard compliant application estate

You may also have:

  • Previous experience of day to day applications system support and maintenance of a wide variety of desktop and enterprise applications
  • Experience in delivering multi-disciplined and multi-interface projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivation & ability to be an excellent role model
  • BSc Degree in a relevant subject or have equivalent industry experience
  • Considerable years’ experience creating/implementing technical solution designs for IT infrastructure and IT business systems
  • Preferred qualifications in technical subjects such as IT Service Management/ITIL/IT Operations
