Instrumentation & Electrical Supervisor

About the Role 

I&E Supervisor leads the I&E resources to maintain the electrical, control systems, and instrumentation systems used to operate the production facilities ensuring the safety of personnel, protection of the environment, and the reliability and availability of the plant to achieve production targets cost effectively. This includes inspections/testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reduction of failures, as well as maintaining documentation of these systems.
This position is designated as a Safety Critical Role.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Lead and direct I&E personnel by scheduling of assignments, monitoring progress, providing direction, guidance and coaching. Ensuring delivered assignments are completed safely, timely, and correctly. Ensure all paperwork is completed on time and is correct.
  • Ensures compliance with INEOS Pigments HR, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement to optimize plant operations.
  • Foster teamwork across the maintenance organization and with all other functional groups to ensure activities are well-aligned and maximizing impact.
  • Stays focused on the long-term goals of the Company while taking responsibility for daily results and driving improvements in safety, environmental, quality, cost and reliability along with the implementation of changes in policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that workplace is free of discrimination and that individuals are treated with respect.
  • Capable for working day shift, coverage and off-hour coverage as necessary.
  • Assign employees to scheduled work, establish work priorities and standards, and ensure the safe and timely completion and follow-up of required activities.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and toolbox talks with employees, and ensure the ongoing compliance of safety rules and safe work practices.
  • Ensure the requirements of PSM, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and the respective Corporate Policies are understood such that all operations are conducted safely and in accordance with appropriate requirements.
  • Coordinate I&E Maintenance activities with the Operations Department, Planner / Scheduler, Maintenance Supervision, and other personnel as appropriate. Maintain on going communications with the above parties concerning job status, problems that may arise, and recommended solutions.
  • Manage the performance and development of I&E personnel through on going feedback, annual performance reviews, coaching, counseling, and recognition.
  • Ensure that tools, equipment, and other resources are available to employees for safe, competent, and timely completion of assigned work. 
  • Assist the Planner / Scheduler and Supervisors to estimate jobs, and resolve workflow problems.
  • Ensure that all work is done in accordance with developed standards, ISA, NETA, and National Electrical Code. Work activity must comply with departmental policies & procedures, ISO procedures (where applicable), and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Other duties as assigned.


About You
 
You should possess:

  • Associates degree in Instrumentation and/or Electrical or Journeyman license is desired
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an instrumentation technician and/or electrician. 
  • Experience with supervising teams with direct reports 
  • Experience with AC and DC Drives, variable frequency drives, PLC and motor controls along with all types of electrical phasing
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and performing normal periodic testing, calibration of plant instrumentation
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrumentation loop drawings, logic drawings, schematics, vendor drawings, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, environmental and emergency response requirements
  • Strong computer skills are an asset: SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge of NFPA-70e, ISA, NETA, and National Electrical Code

Schedule/Hours 

This is a salaried exempt day shift position.
