Title: Inspection Engineer
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday)

ABOUT US
INEOS at Grangemouth is a top tier COMAH site. Assets include an ethylene cracker, polymer production plants, power station and tank terminals with other major petrochemicals infrastructure.
The UKAS accredited in-house inspection body require a CAT 2 Inspection Engineer on a short-term temporary basis in order to support the current team with the delivery of vessel and piping inspections during a plant outage. Relevant in-service UK onshore plant inspection experience of process piping and pressure vessels is a key requirement.
ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
As an Inspection Engineer you will join an existing site established team who act as the ‘competent person’ as defined in the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000. The team is responsible for delivering the site asset inspection programme, which includes the review and development of WSEs and conducting inspections all in accordance with INEOS procedures together site standards and international design codes in order to comply with UK legislation and producing written examination reports.
Key accountabilities
- Prepare inspection workscopes for review as part the Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
- Conduct examinations in accordance with the WSE.
- Develop and coordinate the NDT requirements to support the examination process as well as reviewing and accepting NDT results.
- Write clear and accurate technical reports in a timely manner that fully detail the results of examination carried out.
- Assess as found deterioration and calculate rates of degradation to support continued endorsement.
- Identify repairs and raise recommendations for remedial action.
ABOUT YOU
Required:
- Candidates should hold a relevant mechanical or materials engineering degree, or as a minimum, a HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Valid inspection certifications such as API 510, API 570 or ASME Plant Inspector L2.
- Considerable experience of fabrication, maintenance and operation of mechanical static equipment on a high hazard petrochemical manufacturing site.
- Experience spent directly conducting in-service statutory examinations on tanks and pipework.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, national and international design codes and standards.
- Proficient in the use of computerised management systems such as Credo and Maximo.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent eye for detail and an ability to follow procedures accurately.
