Inspection Manager (m/f/d)

The Position: 

We are looking for a highly skilled Inspection Engineer to lead, coordinate, and ensure compliance in the inspection and maintenance of critical equipment on site. In this role, you will be responsible for driving timely inspection programs, optimizing processes, and maintaining the highest standards of plant reliability and safety.

What you will do: 

  • Responsible for the management, timely coordination, planning and follow-up of the periodic calibration, testing and inspection of pressure relief valves, pressure vessels, steam equipment, storage tanks, compressed air vessels, piping, hoisting equipment, electrical installations, and radioactive sources on site
  • Responsible for the implementation and evergreening of time based and risk based inspections
  • Development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of metrics to verify the compliance status of equipment
  • Developing and implementing of inspection concepts, e.g. PdM (Predictive Maintenance), RBI (Risk Based Inspection) together with the local plant management, regional experts and the relevant inspection organizations in order to optimize mechanical integrity, plant reliability and availability
  • Optimization of inspection plans, utilizing modern methodologies and technologies
  • Review and update safety assessments based on inspection results (test cycle assessment)
  • Advises production and maintenance in case degradation is discovered during inspection regarding criticality, possibility of repair, additional inspections required and repair procedures in accordance with construction codes and legislation
  • Member of an EMEA community of inspection engineers and international exchange of experience on inspection technologies and strategies, as well as guidelines and best practice
  • Follow up the implementation of various regulations applicable to static and rotating operating equipment and collect and update related site procedures and standards
  • Advice and follow-up on PED legislation requirements for pressure equipment (new built, changes, repairs)


What you will bring: 

  • Level of education & knowledge: 
    • University Degree in Materials, Mechanical or Chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in general: 
    • Around 5 years of experience within an inspection department in the chemical process or service industry
    • Knowledge of European, local and environmental legislation related to inspection of process equipment (BetrSichV, GefStoffV, AwSV, TR, TA, DGUV)
  • Technical skills: 
    • Knowledge of Inspection codes (CBM, RBI, RCM, API), Construction codes (DGR, MaschRL), Inspection techniques (DT, NDT, CM), Degradation mechanisms, Metals and materials, metallurgy, Welding and related procedures and best practices
  • Competencies, Behavioral skills: 
    • High level of initiative and proactive action
    • Independent, structured and goal-oriented way of working
    • Good German and English communication skills
