Compensation Grade
ACE-USD-WAGEThe Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician will interface with the appropriate maintenance and manufacturing resources to resolve, improve and implement maintenance activities in a safe, responsible and environmentally sound manner which is in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
While striving to provide personal support of daily operations, the I&E Technician will work to meet schedule requirements while continuing efforts toward personal development and continuous improvement. Work quality and performance must be maintained to the highest level with the expectation of all jobs being completed, documented and verified as completely satisfactory.
Major Responsibilities
The I&E Technician monitors, troubleshoots, and services 120V up to 4kV field equipment and instrumentation (motors, sensing devices, control valves and other control loop components). They must be aware of and follow all safety and security guidelines according to Company policy.
Required Qualifications:
18 Years of Age with a High School diploma or GED
Completion of a five-year apprentice program, or
Completion of a two-year Associates degree in Instrumentation or related field, plus at least 3 years of experience, or
Five years of related experience
Must possess or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card prior to first day of employment
Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident)
Possess skills, knowledge, and training related to implementation of life critical processes: LOTO, system and process openings, working at heights, hot work, confined space entry, energized electrical work.
Must have a good working knowledge of:
Digital, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and controls and related troubleshooting techniques
Motors, power and control circuits and related troubleshooting techniques.
Smart transmitters and field devices and the tools used to check them.
Schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, blueprints and PID drawings.
Must have a functional knowledge of / be familiar with:
Distributed control systems or DCSs (e.g. Invensys I/A, Emerson Delta V)
Programmable logic controllers or PLCs (e.g. Modicon, Rockwell)
Basic understanding of window-based programs: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed teamwork and leadership skills
Self-initiated learning
Time management processes and skills
Self-initiated corrective actions/follow-through
Must be able to maintain:
A professional relationship in the internal work environment with co-workers
A professional relationship in the external work environment and with public agencies.
Exhibit professionalism and maintain order in highly stressful/emergency situations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be willing and able to work outside, year-round under various weather conditions. INEOS Acetyls - Texas City is a 24-hour, 365 days per year operations. Must be able to work 10 hour day shifts and be available for emergency call-outs on off hours
The candidate must be capable of climbing (scaffolds, towers, vessels, etc.) and working at heights.
