I&E Reliability Engineer   
Channahon, Illinois 

The Position: I&E Reliability Engineer - This position will provide I&E Reliability support to the Channahon site to ensure equipment integrity is preserved. This role also provides support for instrumentation and electrical functional design and drafting on projects from conception through construction and start-up, relying chiefly upon experiences, knowledge, input from operations/maintenance/company, and judgment to interpret and apply information (regulations/code/etc).

What you will do: 

  • Ensure equipment integrity is preserved. Lead plant reliability improvement initiatives, which focus on eliminating significant and recurring reliability issues.
  • Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine the site “Asset Management Plan” that includes preventive maintenance tasks, utilization of predictive and preventive methodologies to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems, and accountable for the mechanical integrity and regulatory compliance of site I&E equipment.
  • Perform design work and field/project coordination on assigned portion of electrical systems, instrumentation & control of new project construction.
  • Gather wide range of design and engineering data, such as equipment specifications, applicable codes, design principles and standards related to specific projects.
  • Apply practices and standards relating to electrical design of plant facilities including all applicable codes, company policies, safety and other standards necessary to produce functional designs and drawings for project packages.
  • Serve as site resource for electrical systems, instruments, and controls (standards, training, improvement, etc.).
  • Prepare engineering drawings of electrical instruments for all phases of plant construction.
  • Determine and execute any additions and/or modifications to electrical, instrument, P&I, and loop diagrams for update or as built purposes or as part of project design/build.
  • Obtain necessary information from files, tracings, and field surveys required for updating final drawings/as builds.
  • Primary site resource for instrument/electrical trouble-shooting efforts.
  • Identify, create and refine site reliability and maintenance standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in and provide input to Process Hazard Assessments (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Coordinate contract I&E Designers, Electrical Engineers, or Electrical Contractors. Work with electricians, I&E technicians, vendor representatives and corporate maintenance/engineering personnel.

What you will bring: 

  • Level of education & knowledge: 
    • At least a bachelor’s degree in electrical & instrumentation engineering or other similar engineering discipline, or foreign equivalent.
  • Experience in general: 
    • 5 years of progressive experience in reliability and maintenance of industrial systems & procedures. Experience must be at an industrial chemical manufacturing plant or similar industrial/manufacturing environment.

The annual base salary for this position ranges between $140,000 and $160,000.  This salary range is based on factors such as candidate qualifications, operational needs, and business performance metrics.
