Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager acts as a strategic and tactical business partner for INEOS Pigments to facilitate the achievement of the business goals through all HR activities including staffing, performance management, talent management, compensation, employee relations, coaching, and individual and organizational development. This includes guiding the direction and handling all site HR matters, leading and facilitating cyclical HR processes, supporting labor management efforts and relationships, and coaching and advising site leadership and management personnel in HR and personnel matters.

Key activities include:

  • Provide strategic direction and support for the implementation of legally-compliant human resources programs, policies, and best practices
  • Provide oversight and direction for recruitment and onboarding at the Ashtabula Complex
  • Manage and drive the annual salary merit review process for INEOS Pigments
  • Responsible for developing the annual manpower fixed cost budget for all Ashtabula cost centers
  • Manage the local payroll team providing guidance and direction
  • Oversee the annual performance management process. Provide expertise and program development
  • Ensure performance management process meets expectations defined in the INEOS Behavioral Safety Principles
  • Responsible for employee relations, conducting employee investigations, overseeing corrective actions and discipline in a consistent manner across departments
  • Support the Labor Relations Manager including day-to-day union matters, actively participate in negotiations, and align on HR and labor relations matters
  • Responsible for the Ashtabula Community Relations Budget
  • Actively engage and support the community in alignment with INEOS Enterprises areas of giving and support
  • Participate in operations strategic business planning activities, particulary with regard to human resources requirements to meet short and long-term business needs
  • Provide HR support, leadership, and expertise to the Ashtabula Complex with accountability for achieving successful HR outcomes
  • Manage the HR team by providing guidance, coaching, direction, and oversight to meet the HR needs of the business
  • Ensure Human Resources activity is carried out in alignment to the INEOS core values, SHE policies, and company initiatives
  • Team Leader for the INEOS Pigments’ 20 Safety Principles – Process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
  • SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP or other recognized HR certification
  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience with a demonstrated track record leading the HR function
  • In-depth knowledge of policies and practices in all areas of Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing and overseeing employee relations, compensation, performance management, recruiting and onboarding, and HR related legal/regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and investigatory skills; ability to identify issues, make recommendations, and define company risks
  • Prior experience in investigating complex employee issues, including successful resolution
  • Demonstrated track record of accomplishments of Human Resources
  • Strong influencing skills with solid knowledge of HR best practices
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and resolve them successfully
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Previous experience in a union manufacturing environment, preferred


Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried exempt day shift position.


Our Ashtabula, Ohio Complex, consisting of two plants just south of Lake Erie, is a state of the art manufacturing complex with leading technology and more than 45 years of manufacturing excellence.
