Job Title: HR Manager

The Position:
The HR Manager for the Texas City Chemicals site is a key member of the Aromatics HR team & the Texas City Leadership team. This role participates in developing the site HR Strategy & is responsible for the local plant site implementation of both the strategic initiatives and the HR operations. The position reports directly to the Aromatics Regional HR Manager and dotted line reporting to the Texas City Plant Manager and has one direct report (HR Assistant).
This role is a critical contributor in participating in the development and implementation of key HR initiatives as well as executing local site HR activity with specific emphasis on strategic resourcing, labor relations, & performance management. The incumbent must have a proven track record of influencing on a broad range of HR issues and decisions and strong labor relations experience. The role has particular emphasis on providing sound coaching and leadership with broader expectations for overall site performance by providing site management with advice, solid counsel, and developing realistic solutions to issues in accordance with policy and past practices as well as provides guidance to enhance the sites organizational development.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure alignment & execution of the Texas City Site People agenda is aligned with the Regional HR strategy.
Lead HR activities at the site such as: recruitment, leadership development, performance management, employee relations and engagement, reward & recognition and HR operational service delivery to enhance organizational capability to meet site goals and objectives.
Interpret and apply HR policies and union contract.
Lead the implementation of reward activity such as the annual Salary Administration process, promotions, conduct wage salary surveys to assure competitiveness in the area
Counsel department managers and supervisors on matters of discipline and conflict resolution
Conduct employee counseling, as required
Ensure HR Compliance with national and local regulations, HR policies and standards.
Partner with site leadership to operationalize and implement HR initiatives and drive transformation and change management to support the business strategy
Ensure site staffing strategy meets the needs of the business & drive processes to promote an inclusive and diverse workforce.
Ensure HR activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality, health and safety, legal, and compliance policies.
Ensure the workforce is representative of the places where we do business, and we work in an inclusive way.
Education & Experience:
B.S. / B.A. in Business, Human Resources or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager/Generalist in a unionized manufacturing environment
Experience managing all aspects of a human resources function (employee/labor relations, compensation, staffing, benefits, safety, training, communications, discipline, etc.)
PHR Preferred
Job Requirements:
Ability to drive HR processes throughout the site to a high standard.
Experience managing employee relations with hourly staff.
Must be able to work in a complex environment and be able to understand and communicate why policies and programs may be interpreted differently in response to different markets and business conditions.
Must be a team player and actively network w/peers to leverage quality of contribution to organization.
Must have strong facilitation skills, a high degree of impact & influence with employees and leadership.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of employees. Strong communication skills (oral and written) are essential as well as an ability to work issues across multiple boundaries and the ability to exercise good judgment.
Must be flexible in responding to changing and diverse business needs - be able to develop creative solutions to business dilemmas.
The annual base salary for this position typically ranges between $130,000 and $190,000. Additionally, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as part of their total compensation package. This salary range is an estimate based on factors such as candidate qualifications, operational needs, and business performance metrics. Actual compensation may vary above or below the stated range, as permitted by applicable laws.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At INEOS Aromatics, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are carefully made based on the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
