As a Human Resource Generalist provides direction and support to business units in the areas of staffing, recruiting, bargaining unit contract administration, conflict resolution, communication, performance and change management and HR related legal compliance.
- Leads the labor relations function at the Ashtabula Plant 1 facility
- Tracks grievance response in coordination with site management and the HRBP Manager
- Relies on past practice, contract interpretation, previous experience and impact on plant to suggest recommendations to grievances
- Complies with and protects employees and the Company relative to all existing governmental and labor laws and government reporting requirements including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, NLRA and others; counsels managers and superintendents on these laws and regulations and HR issues
- Investigates policy or procedure violations and makes recommendations on appropriate course of action. Monitors the implementation of performance improvement process with non-performing employees. Maintains consistency with investigations and discipline between the 2 plants
- Prepares for contract negotiations with coordination of issues and recommended resolutions.
- Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Assists with employee communications and feedback through meetings, suggestion programs, surveys, focus groups, one-on-one meetings, etc.
- Leads the Plant 1 job bidding and recruitment process to identify motivated employees to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company and the Ashtabula Complex
- Communicates and interprets HR policies and procedures for managers and employees.
- Improves manager and employee relations by interpreting bargaining unit contract and Company policies and procedures, identifying and clarifying issues, evaluating, and implementing solutions and coaching and counseling.
- Leads confidential and effective investigations relative to employee performance issues.
- Manages HR related forms and updates HRIS system– complete SAP forms, new hire, terminations, address changes, pay changes, transfers, beneficiaries, miscellaneous benefits, etc.
- Maintains personnel files
- Prepares INEOS Organization Chart
- Administers and tracks leave of absence programs including Sickness & Accident benefits and FMLA
- Prepares draft reports for HR department
- Prepares new hire packets/information, organizational announcements, new hire/transfer evaluations, funeral/birth announcements, new hire welcome boxes, etc.
- Tracks and updates HR budget
- Maintains confidential and non-routine information
- Interfaces effectively with all levels of personnel
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, Human Resources or related field required.
- HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM considered a plus
- A minimum of five (5) years prior experience in human resources ina manufacturing
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required; HRIS, SAP experience preferred.

- Information Capture: Knowledge of the processes and the ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
- Confidential Investigations: Knowledge of and ability to implement confidential investigation and resolution processes concerning harassment complaints.
