Job Title: Head of, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)                            

Department: SHE

Summary of Position

The Head of Safety, Health, & Environment (SHE) is responsible for strategic direction and overall performance of the SHE Department.  Partnering with the Operations team, the Head of SHE ensures that INEOS Energy complies with all applicable regulations by designing and implementing policies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the operation team in support the development of INEOS’s south Texas assets

  • Provides strategic direction for the SHE organization establishing budgets, goals, and targets for the department

  • Develops and maintains departmental policies that ensure the company complies with all applicable safety, environmental, and health, regulations.

  • Oversees the development and implementation of safety training programs, compliance tracking systems, record keeping systems, and key performance indicators for compliance issues; tracks performance of the company and department for continuous improvement

  • Oversees the tracking of major liabilities and compliance risks; communicates potential liabilities to senior management, seeks opportunities for improvement and recommends corrective actions

  • Represents the company in communications and negotiations with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and industry peer groups

  • Oversees due diligence on possible or current merger and acquisition activities

  • Collaborates with and educates company leaders to manage compliance issues and minimize risk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field

  • Preference given to a candidate with engineering and operational Experience

  • At least ten years of related experience leading the SHE or Engineering functions in an upstream organization

  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, and flexible as priorities and direction may change on short notice

  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and the ability to apply these laws in a practical sense – based on a deep understanding of upstream oil and gas operations

  • Deep technical knowledge and understanding of oil and gas processes and equipment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate with vendors, regulators, subordinates, superiors, and colleagues

Relocation:

Preferential treatment will be granted to candidates residing in either the Denver metropolitan or San Antonio area.

Compensation & Benefits

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $200,000 - $250,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 40% of eligible pay. This role, depending on skill level and experience, may also participate in the Long-Term Incentive Plan with annual awards, vesting over three years, ranging from 15-30% of stated annual target. These ranges are estimates, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
