Purpose of the job:
Head of Asia procurement is responsible for all Procurement activities of Aromatics business within Asia (except specific areas defined by the Aromatics Management Board). He / She participates in defining the global/ regional Procurement strategy and ensures regional adaption and implementation. He / she holds the regional governance on Procurement to ensure supply security/ flexibility and to achieve best total cost within the region using the global Procurement network.
Accountabilities of the job:
- Lead in developing the Procurement Strategy incl. elements of
- Strategic direction of Procurement reflecting the overall strategic direction of Aromatics
- The suitable and optimal contracting strategy
- Supplier portfolio strategy reflecting supply market developments
- Minimization of supply risks
- External partnerships
- Lead in driving cost culture, relentlessly drive value and cost improvement
- Ensure adherence of all Procurement activities within the region to the set governance framework including essentially DOA, CMP (Contract Management Plan), SBL (Strategy and Bid List) processes.
- Functional and/ or disciplinary leadership of Regional Procurement staff
- Ensures smooth and effective interaction within the Procurement network
- Drive strategic dialogues with regional key suppliers
- Track and measure overall Procurement performance for the region
- Drive value add and bottom-line impact for Aromatics such as cost savings, risk reduction, higher delivery flexibility, increased competitiveness, more efficient processes, supplier innovation etc. within the region
- Ensures appropriate skill levels of Procurement functions and drives development of Procurement staff in the framework set by HR within the region
- Ensures appropriate information and cooperation with internal business partners on all levels
- Reports status and achievements within Procurement to Aromatics regional management
Required profile:
Level of education & Knowledge:
- University degree in economics, business administration, supply chain management or natural sciences
- Profound experience in Procurement of direct and indirect materials, in international environment (minimum 15 years)
Experience in general:
- Strong experience in management of regional cross country team (minimum 8 years)
- Capability to motivate, guide and manage people in a multi-national network
Technical skills:
- Strong expertise in Procurement techniques, methods, processes and approaches
- Strong strategy development and negotiation skills
- Strong in category management approaches across different categories
- Fluent in English (including negotiations) and local language
- Story lining and presentation skills (in front of senior executives)
