The Role

INEOS is now one of the world’s largest chemical companies whose profile and public presence has increased significantly. The adoption of Microsoft as a single collaboration platform across the group brings many benefits and challenges.

The Microsoft Modern Workplace Manager is a key role in delivering a seamless, resilient and standardised platform for collaboration across the INEOS group. INEOS operates a federal model, but for the Microsoft environment we share a single tenant across all INEOS business units. The governance of this tenant sits with the job holder to ensure all Ineos business units can operate within the shared environment. Responsibilities you may have in this job:

  • Define, implement and maintain the governance structure that will provide an acceptable level of operations for the Group wide Microsoft environment:
    • Define policies, procedures and operational guidelines for the platform
    • Provide leadership to a virtual team, comprising representatives from INEOS businesses, to help define & deliver the proposed standards
    • Ensure change management processes are developed & implemented for the Microsoft environment.
    • Plan & perform an audit of policies and ensure data integrity
    • Maintain the standards to consider changing technical advances.
  • Define, build, implement and maintain a roadmap for the Microsoft services relevant to INEOS:

    • Work with INEOS IT & Infrastructure Managers to understand evolving business requirements.
    • Advise INEOS IT and Infrastructure Managers on changes to the roadmap.   
  • Monitor and review end to end Microsoft service and ensure problems with day-to-day operation and delivery of the service are minimized.

    • Implement a Microsoft reporting dashboard & service monitoring.
    • Communicate to & educate site Infrastructure managers
    • Provide guidance to other technical teams, including process control teams.
  • Identify, develop and implement opportunities to improve service,enhance security and reduce cost:
    • Communicate to & educate site Infrastructure managers
    • Provide guidance to other technical teams, including process control teams.
  • Act as INEOS main technical contact with Microsoft and associated vendors:
    • Select and manage the relationship with any 3rd party suppliers aligned to the Microsoft toolset
    • Develop and maintain a working relationship with key Microsoft contacts
    • Ensure incidents & requests are resolved within SLA targets
  • Act as INEOS main technical contact with Proofpoint

    • Manage the Proofpoint environment.
    • Manage and rotate the Proofpoint team to provide cover across Ineos
    • Develop and maintain a working relationship with Proofpoint and Ineos team members.
    • Ensure incidents & requests are resolved within SLA targets.

Requirements

Level of education & Experience in general

  • Degree, with at least 10 years experience of managing infrastructure and applications.
  • 5 Years’ experience with Microsoft specifically
  • Experience operating across different cultures and regions.
  • Management of IT service providers
  • Qualification or Certification in Microsoft products  
    •  MCSA (Office 365 Management)
    • MCSE (Productivity)

  • Demonstrated expertise with cloud platforms

  • Practical knowledge of technical architecture
  • Strong delivery focus
