Global Financial Analyst

Role Synopsis:
The goal of this role is to coordinate and execute month-end close SAP processes for the Global Aromatics and Acetyls businesses. Partner with IT to resolve SAP systems issues that arise during the close. Consolidate monthly reporting of actuals from SAP IAP, ABP, and PowerBI for Aromatics Leadership, Quattro, and Audit. Support Aromatics Forecasting efforts and analysis within Global Finance.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Develop and issue monthly close and reporting timeline to Finance Teams in Asia, Europe, and the US
- Execute daily SAP tasks during the closing period in coordination with the IT teams
- Monitor system performance and job completion in SAP, troubleshooting as needed
- Assist in loading, reconciling, and reporting of Global Aromatics monthly results in HFM (Hyperion Financial Management)
- Support Global Reporting Manager in consolidation and validation of management reporting of Actuals and Forecasts
- Leverage Global Finance network to provide insights on monthly/quarterly variance analysis versus Forecasts and Budgets
- Execute SAP finance master data maintenance ensuring proper controls and alignment between systems over new and changing company codes, profit centers, cost centers, and general ledger accounts
- Lead network of Financial Analyst at Aromatics Sites in transitioning of SAP ABP reporting to PowerBI in support of the IT Organization
- Partner with the wider finance teams on continuous improvement activities aimed at driving efficient and effective close processes, Actuals reporting, and Forecast development.
- Prepare financial reports, data extracts, and ad-hoc analysis requests for the Aromatics Global Finance Manager, Quattro, and external auditors
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 5 years relevant experience or equivalent additional years of relevant work experience
Technical:
- Understands technical accounting & finance aspects of role and performs work with minimal supervision
- Able to complete transactions in SAP. Has a broad working knowledge of how SAP and other financial accounting systems and software works
- Diagnoses and solves technical or process issues as it relates to accounting close procedures, timelines, systems interdependencies
- Willingness to develop digital technology skills needed to perform analysis within Hyperion Financial Management, SAP ABP and PowerBI
Behavioral skills:
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to interact across different cultures and time zones on a regular basis
- Openness to working during early morning or evening hours during the close period to support Global teammates
- Actively works to identify new improvements, seeks input and captures and assimilates learnings for others
